“Nothing,” I whisper back. “We’re just friends. I’m seeing one of his biker friends.”

“So he’s single?”

“As far as I know.”

“Oh,” she says, clearing her throat. “I thought he was into you. He keeps looking at you when you’re not looking.”

“Just friends,” I assure her, not wanting to get into the fact that I think he might have been interested, but now he’s not. “I actually did think that the two of you made a cute couple.”

Sadie is beautiful, with brown skin, dark eyes, and a set of dimples I wish I had, and she has dedicated her whole life to saving animals. She’s got a heart of gold.

“He’s cute.” She sighs. “And really good with the dogs. But if he wants you, I’m not going to be anyone’s second option.”

“There’s a clubhouse full of other hot bikers if you want options,” I tease, and she laughs.

“I’ll remember that, but I doubt anyone would want to date a woman with ten puppies and four dogs at her house right now.” She sighs, and now I can see the appeal of Pyro because he sure as hell would.

“Who said anything about dating?” I wink, and she laughs again.

After walking four of the smaller dogs and the big mastiff mix, I head home, waving at Pyro as I leave.

Nate is coming over tonight, and I’m going to be ready for him.

BONES

If Doc finds out about the cameras in her house, I don’t know what I’m going to do, but for now, I’m going to keep my mouth shut. I know she’s going to want to kill me, but being able to check in on her when she’s at home calms me down. After doing a few hours of work at the garage, I head home to steal some time with my daughter before spending the night with Doc. I can’t wait until we move into the new house, and then hopefully we can all be under the same roof, Doc included.

I’m walking out of my room when I hear Skull and Isla talking. “Bones isn’t going to want you to share Meredith, right? I mean, I know that we did that. But Bones was single.”

“He’s not going to want me to sleep with Meredith, Isla,” Skull replies gently, lowering his tone. “You don’t have anything to worry about.”

“That’s how Bones and I bonded. How are you and she going to bond?” she asks, breath hitching. I had no idea that Isla could have been feeling insecure about the situation by adding Doc into the mix.

“That is not the only way you and Bones bonded,” Skull replies, now sounding amused. “I’ll get to know Meredith, and I’ll protect her and always be there for her the way Bones is to you.” He lowers his voice huskily and says something I can’t hear.

I don’t think Meredith has to sleep with Skull for them to bond the same way Isla and I did, and I’m more than fine with that not happening between them. If I were with Doc then, it never would have happened in the first place.

Back then, we didn’t know what would happen, and we were testing out if Skull and I could commit to the same old lady, but I didn’t feel that way about her.

I don’t doubt that Doc and Skull will form their own relationship in due course. I don’t feel like there’s any pressure on that. He will instantly care for her because I do, and because she’s the one who brought me back when I was feeling nothing and pulling away from everyone.

I’ll talk with my twin about all this another time, but for now, I’m going to see my woman. I ordered the property patch today.

Doc is officially mine.

When I arrive at her house, she opens the door in a lacy white teddy, red lipstick, and stiletto heels.

The realization lands like a lightning strike.

I'm in love with her.

I love everything about her.

“I love you, Doc,” I say, before kissing her quickly, picking her up, and throwing her over my shoulder. When we get to her bedroom, she’s on her knees and taking out my cock.

“I love you too, Nate.”

“Fuck.” I moan as she sucks me into her mouth without any warning. My hand fists in her hair. She looks like a fucking angel right now, but her mouth is all sin. “You are so perfect for me. Look at how good you suck my cock.”
