“I’ll see you there,” he replies, leaving with his coffee in his hands.

“Interesting,” Suit comments, taking a bite of his toast.

“I’d better head home and get ready for work, or I’m going to be late,” I say, finishing my last few bites.

“I’ll take you,” Nate offers.

“My car’s out front. I can drive. Tell Ora I said thank you for a delicious breakfast,” I say, standing up. I say goodbye to everyone.

Nate follows me outside. “Let me drive you. I can get one of the prospects to drop your car off later,” Nate says, pulling me against him and kissing me.

“I’m a big girl, I can manage a drive home,” I reply, amused.

“I know you can, but let me do it anyway,” he replies in an unwavering tone. “

“Fine,” I grumble. If he wants to go out of his way to drive me home, then he can go for it. “You want to come over tonight?”

“I’d love to come over tonight,” he replies huskily. “I’ve got to head into Vipers, then I’ll spend a few hours with Natalia, and come over after dinner?”

“Sounds good.”

He drives me home, waits while I get ready for work, then takes me there. One of the prospects will bring me my car in the next hour. Being away from him gives me some time to unpack everything that happened last night, and there was a lot.

Nate is not only close to Skull, but also to Isla. Isla is basically Natalia’s mother, and I don’t know where I would fit in with that, but I suppose I’d let that happen naturally with no expectations.

Next are the club girls. Can I handle that?

Are they going to be nasty to me when Nate isn’t around?

Am I willing to fight for my place beside him?

Because that’s the real question.

The old ladies added me to their Baddies group chat, and I find it hilarious that Lore is in there. I only spoke to him for a little while last night, but he seems really nice and friendly.

All of the men are hot.

Even the president is hot.

Yeah.

And the nerdy tech guy, Blade?

Wow. I wish the nerds looked like that back in my college days.

When Atiana brought up the question about who is the second hottest guy in the clubhouse, obviously, my answer would be Skull.

But if I had to choose a third? I think I’d go with Suit.

There’s something about a man all inked, yet wearing professional clothes. His gray eyes are always filled with a mix of mischief and intelligence.

Not that I’d ever admit that out loud. I’d hate to know who Nate thought was the second hottest, and if it was Isla, I don’t know how I’d feel about that.

I have a quick shower and get ready for work, only just making it to my office before my first client. Beatrice is late, too, as usual, so no one even notices me rushing in.

When five o’clock hits, I head straight to the shelter. I take off my heels and put on some sneakers. Pyro is already there, back from walking a group of eight dogs. He nods his head at me, and I wave, then start helping Sadie clean some of the kennels.

“What’s going on with you and Pyro?” she whispers, glancing around to make sure he’s not there.
