But I don’t message him.

I’ve never relied on anyone before, and I sure as hell am not going to get used to that now.

I just met him.

He kidnapped me.

But he made me feel alive.

He made me laugh.

My body has never known such pleasure, and I haven’t even gone all the way with him.

Okay, I need to stop thinking about him.

I’m showered and lying in bed reading a damn biker romance when I hear the rumble of a motorcycle in the distance.

Ah, fuck it.

Pulling out my phone, I send a quick text.

Meredith

Hope you’re not out kidnapping any other women?

He replies almost instantly.

Bones

Bones

What are you doing?

Meredith

Reading in bed. You?

Bones

Hanging out at the clubhouse. The old ladies cooked dinner for everyone.

I picture him sitting there, surrounded by beautiful women, and there’s a tightening in the pit of my stomach. Does their club have club whores? Well, that’s what the book I’m reading refers to them as—women who hang around the club and try to sleep with the members. Nate did hint that women come after him for his patch. Is that what he meant?

When I don’t reply, he messages again.

Bones

They are my brothers’ women. You’ll love them.

Did he guess what I was thinking? I might love them as long as he hasn’t slept with them.

It hits me that Nate has a whole clubhouse of people behind him—a whole extended family. And the only person I could think to introduce him to is my friend, Katya, who moved to the other side of the country. I mean, my mom and dad could meet him when I see them, which is only at holidays, and sometimes not even then. They have biological grandchildren now, and they are busy with them.

Meredith

What if they don’t love me?
