Caleb tensed and peeled Jamie’s hand away. “Not tonight,” he said, kissing Jamie’s temple and gently caressing his arse with the tip of his finger. “Let me take care of you like this, yeah? You just sit here, sweetheart, and come for me.”
He stroked Jamie’s cock harder, his hand blurring, as Jamie climbed higher and higher…
“I’ve missed watching you like this.”
When Caleb’s teeth grazed his earlobe, Jamie cried out. White-hot pleasure surged through him as his body spasmed, release coating his stomach. Caleb held him as he trembled, one arm wrapped around his middle, the other firmly coaxing every last drop out of him.
He kissed Jamie’s cheek, then his neck, but all Jamie could do was lie boneless against him. The tight ache of anxiety seeped out from his chest.
“Caleb…,” he slurred, turning around to see smoldering brown eyes and a clenched jaw.
“Yes, baby. I’m right here.”
Baby.
Once again reaching for Caleb’s erection, Jamie said, “I want to—”
Before Jamie could do anything, Caleb lifted him and tucked him in under the covers. He stood quickly and kissed Jamie’s cheek. “Take a nap, okay? You need it.”
“But…” Jamie blinked his eyes shut, the tension in his body replaced with warm, cozy contentment. As the door clicked shut behind Caleb, he fell into the best sleep he’d had in months.
Chapter 16
Caleb punched ashard as he could. With a grunt, he made contact with the bag, bracing his core for the impact, then ducked right to dodge an imaginary threat.
Over and over, he went.
Punch. Dodge. Punch, punch. Dodge.
Slowly, his mind started to clear, and the tension in his chest started to ease. Sweat dripped from his temple, but he kept going. Just a few more minutes to get his energy out.
“What’d that bag do to you?”
The voice startled Caleb so hard he spun, fists still raised. Jamie stood at the door to their apartment gym, green eyes wide with shock. He showed his palms in surrender, but the smattering of color on his cheekbones gave away his nerves.
Hands still lifted, Jamie’s bright green eyes raked down Caleb’s sweaty body. He was suddenlyveryaware he wasn’t wearing a shirt.
“Sorry,” Caleb muttered, yanking off his boxing gloves and grabbing his water bottle. Adrenaline still surged hot and heavy through his veins as he checked the time. It was late. “What are you doing awake, anyway?”
“Was up reading,” Jamie replied. He had on joggers and a London sweatshirt. His hair was rumpled, like he’d been lying down, with his glasses perched adorably on his nose.
He looked so…softand cozy and fuckable. It took all of Caleb’s self-control not to rush over, pull him close, and breathe him in.
These were the exact thoughts that had brought Caleb down to the gym in the first place. It was getting harder and harder to resist Jamie—he was doing a shitty job of it as is—so instead of climbing into bed to suck him off, he decided to beat the shit out of a punching bag.
Jamie stepped toward Caleb. “Thank you for the headphones, by the way. I love them.”
Caleb took a minuscule step back. “Of course. I figured you could use them on the Tube tomorrow. First day of work’s a big deal.”
Jamie smiled. “I Googled them, and they have Active Noise Cancellation.”
“Yeah,” Caleb said, scratching the back of his head. “Ellie helped me research which ones were good for people who get overstimulated.”
Jamie blushed. Even now, he still got squirmy when Caleb showed just how well he knew him. He nodded to the punching bag. “That can’t be great for your shoulder, right?”
“It’s fine.”
Jamie’s eyes narrowed on Caleb’s scar. “Is it?”
