I scoffed, “Nope. Not at all.” My burning face betrayed me, but Cam didn’t comment.
“Don’t worry about her too much. Also, she doesn’t spy on you. She mostly stays up in the attic when you’re home. I told you she’s pretty shy.”
We stopped walking.
“...” I stared at Cam.
He stared back.
“There’s an attic?” I asked very slowly, just to be sure I heard it right.
Cam tilted his head to the side causing his hair to fall over his forehead. I resisted the urge to reach up and comb it back with my fingers.
“You didn’t know?” He sounded genuinely surprised.
“I have anattic?” I repeated.
“Correction, it’s Sylvia’s attic,” Cam told me with a smirk.
“Where’s the door?” I asked, suddenly filled with excited curiosity.
When most would be freaking out at discovering their house had a hidden attic, I was ecstatic. Afterall, I listened to a true-crime podcast where the hosts talked about the cool and spooky things people found in hidden rooms of old houses and stuff in walls. And if those things they found happened to be a body or two, even better.
Not thatIparticularly wanted to find a body in my house. I’d have to call the BPD and report it, and I absolutely didnotwant to draw attention to me or Cam.
Oh god, what if Sylvia’s body was in the hidden attic? No, right? There would have been a distinct smell. Right?
Fuck.
Suddenly, I wasn’t so eager to go looking for the now-not-so-secret room. Cam shrugged, oblivious to the silent fangirling-slash-concern going on in my mind.
“I don’t know. We don’t talk that much.”
“Enough to be on a first-name basis,” I muttered like the petulant child that I was.
Cam slung his arm around my waist and pulled me against him, cavalier as ever. I stumbled and fell into his chest as he caught me, pinning me against him. He leaned down and pressed his lips against the side of my neck, just beneath my scarf. I shivered with a whimpered moan as he pressed a tonguing kiss there.
“Don’t worry, Victor. You’re still my favorite person.”
His teeth worked at my skin then nibbled on my sensitive earlobe.
“So, you’re back to work tomorrow then?” he asked, still licking and biting at me as if I was a piece of candy.
“Mhm,” I hummed as my eyes fluttered closed, reveling in the feel of him against me.
If he kept this up, I was likely to get to my knees and suck him off right here in on the side of theroad. If anyone drove past, they’d get one hell of a show.
“I’ll miss you while you’re gone,” he whispered, his breath like a feather sliding seductively against my skin.
“Me too.” My fingers clung to the leather of his jacket, and my cock gave an eager twitch in my pants. Cam must have felt it, because he rumbled a low, heated laugh.
“We still have tomorrow.” His teeth clamped down on the side of my neck, and I gasped at the bite of pain that caused my heart to race. “Halloweenandyour birthday.”
I hadn’t wanted to tell Cam about my birthday; I didn’t like making a big deal out of it. He’d only found out thanks to Alice blowing up my phone saying she was having my surprise gift delivered to my house tomorrow. Although, her telling me made it less of a surprise. I was honestly a little nervous about what it could be. Knowing her, it was probably something fucking embarrassing.
Cam’s words and roaming hands thoroughly distracted me from my worries.
“So, let’s make sure to...” His broad hand slid down my back to palm my ass, dragging my now hard cock against his thigh and forcing a gasp out of me. “Thoroughly enjoy it.”
