It’s pretty dark back here with no street lights around, giving me the perfect cover.
I slip in through the back gate, around the garden shed, and keep close to the fence. The good thing is that this party wasn’t very big to begin with. Not like the ones the guys throw in the cemetery. So there aren’t many people back here, and so far, no one has seen me.
Why the hell did I think doing this was a good idea? It’s so damn risky, anyone could catch me right now.
Maybe I should turn around and leave, save this girl for another time. I could always track down where she lives and slit her throat while she's sleeping. I mean, that would make a statement, right?
I’m about to change my mind about this whole plan when none other than the girl in question makes her way outside.
She looks drunk based on how she’s walking. She stumbles down the steps and towards the side of the house. A second later, I hear puking sounds.
Gross.
Creeping my way over to her, I change back to my original plan. I mean, she’s right here. It’s like she fell into my lap. How could I not take this opportunity, right?
“You know, it’s rude to puke in someone else’s garden. That's nasty.”
The girl looks over at me, bent over at the waist.
“What the fuck?” she groans. “Who the hell are you?” She standsup, wiping at her mouth with the back of her hand. “Why do you have a mask on?”
“Why do you think it’s okay to fuck other girls’ boyfriends?” I cock my head to the side.
She narrows her eyes at me. “Okay, who are you? Are you some crazy girlfriend or something? Look. I fucked Tyson one time. I didn’t know he had a girlfriend until after.”
“Tyson?” I murmur. “Huh. Yeah, no. I’m not Tyson’s girlfriend, but you’re a lot worse off than I thought.”
She crosses her arms. “Listen, lady, I don’t want any drama. It’s not my fault if a guy doesn’t want to be faithful. I can fuck whoever is willing.”
“There are so many things wrong with your statement. But that doesn’t matter. I need to get this whole killing-you-thing started before anyone finds us.”
Her eyes widen, fear seeping back into her gaze. “W-what?”
Taking my knife out of my pocket, I flick the blade open. “You know, like, stabby stabby.” I make the stabbing motion.
She tries to back away, shaking her head. “No. Please. Don’t hurt me. I didn’t do anything! I swear.”
“But you did. You fucked my boyfriend.”
“It didn’t mean anything!”
“Doesn’t matter. Damage is done, and now you have to die,” I sigh. “Sorry.”
She opens her mouth to scream, but I’m faster, diving forward and clamping my hand over her mouth to keep her quiet. We both hit the ground hard, and I curse when my knife almost cuts me. “I really need to be more careful with this thing.”
“Get off me!” she shouts.
“Shut up,” I hiss, grabbing my knife where it fell to the ground next to us and sliding it across her throat.
Her lips part, eyes open in horror. It doesn't take long before the light begins to fade in her gaze. After a few more gargled sounds, her body goes lax.
“There we go,” I say, getting to my feet. “Now, was that so hard?”
Tucking my knife away, I stare down at her body, debating onjust leaving it here. It’s kind of risky to be dragging a body to my Jeep with all these houses so close together.
Maybe I should just take my photo, leave my calling card, and dip out.
Before I can make my decision, someone rounds the corner of the house.
