“No one better try,” Sylas grumbles.
“Okay, enough about you three. Nola, tell me, what do you like to do for fun?”
I can feel all three eyes on me.
Licking my lips I wrap my arms around myself.
“Nola is more of an introvert,” Jasper answers for me. “She doesn’t do anything for fun.”
“I do too.” My brows furrow. “I like to go for walks every night in the park by my place. I love music. And animals.”
“Yes!” Callie grins. “And we have to go to the zoo. I haven’t been there since I’ve gotten back. I have to see about getting a job there, too.” She turns to the guys. “Next weekend, zoo. The four of us.”
“We can’t,” Jasper says. “We have jobs.”
“You’re in university. Live a little. Have fun.” Callie waves him off.
“Trust me, our fun isn’t the same kind of fun as yours,” he mutters.
“Whatever. Nola and I will go then, right?”
“Yeah.” I nod. “I’d love to.”
“Great. It’s settled.”
We get out food served to us by another person, this time by a waiter. Callie holds the conversation as we eat, letting me relax without having to worry about making small talk.
Jasper wasn’t completely wrong. I am an introvert. But it’s not like I chose not to have a social life, it’s that I’ve never had the opportunity to.
I guess that's gonna change now. Who knows, it could be fun.
Once we’re done, I go to grab some money to pay the check when Callie stops me. “Don’t worry about it. The guys got this.”
“Oh.” I blink. “No, it’s okay, I can pay for myself.” I pull a twenty from my wallet.
Sylas’ hand wraps around my wrist. “Put the money away, Lola girl.” He grins, making my heart stop. “We got this.”
“Thanks.” I can feel my cheeks heat, probably turning a rosey red.
He’s going to pay for me. He’s so damn sweet.
Oh my god, wait, does that mean this is our first date? Can it be considered a date if his sister is here with us?
I mean, people go on group dates all the time, right? Is it the same if someone is single and just tagging along?
I don’t want Callie to feel like a fifth wheel.
“Lola?”
“Huh?” I blink, my eyes dropping to where Sylas still holds my wrist.
“You good?”
“Yes.” I nod, disappointed when he lets go. I put my money back. “Thanks again.”
“I’m going to be right back.” Sylas gets up and leaves the table.
“What is he doing?” Jasper sounds annoyed.
