“Upright on what?” I ask.

“I’m glad you asked.” I can’t see her face, but the sound of her voice is telling me she’s smiling. “Help me put her on the swing.”

“I’m sorry, the swing?” Jasper asks, and I snort at the shocked look on his face.

“Yes. The swing,” Nola huffs.

“Why the swing?” Wesley asks.

“She’s going to die, why not have a little fun before leaving? And who doesn’t love to swing?” She bends down and grabs the girl’s legs. “Is anyone going to help me or what?”

“I got them,” I chuckle, rushing forward to grab the girl’s arms.

“Thank you,” she giggles. “My hero.”

“Any time, Lola Girl.” I wink.

“You two are fucking crazy, you know that, right? Just kill her and let’s go?” Jasper growls.

“Excuse me,” Nola mutters. “My murder, my choice. Don’t like it, leave.”

“Is she for real right now?” Jasper asks Wesley, sounding pissed, and it makes all this so much more fun.

“I’ll help,” Wesley says, just taking the girl from us and throwing her over his shoulder.

“You know, that's hot,” Nola whispers to me as Wesley walks the girl over to the swing.

I can’t help but laugh.

This girl is fucking crazy, like there really is something wrong with her, but she’s perfect. And so damn cute, I just want to put her in my pocket.

I have no idea how we never saw it before.

“Now what?” Wesley asks when he sits her up in the swing.

Nola rushes over with the bag. “Hold her still,” she instructs as she begins zip-tying the girl to the swing.

“This is fucking ridiculous. The more time we spend out here, the more chances that we’ll be seen by someone who isn’t on our fucking payroll.”

“Then stop bitching and help,” Nola argues. “If you’re going to keep complaining, then go.”

“You are so fucking getting punished for this,” Jasper snarls.

Nola starts to wrap a rope around the girl's waist, tying her ass to the swing.

“You say that as if she wasn’t hoping it would end like that,” I chuckle to Jasper.

“Hey,” Nola protests. “Don’t tell him that, then he’s going to change his mind.”

“Don’t worry, baby, if Jasper won’t punish you, I will.” I grin.

“You’re so romantic,” she sighs, making my whole damn chest warm up.

I’m so fucking gone for this girl.

“There.” Nola steps back, the girl slowly swinging. Her body is leaning back like she’s about to fall off, but she stays in place, her head falling backward.

“That’s it?” Jasper asks.
