My head snaps up out of the water as Callie and Garrett stare at me. Callie gapes at me in surprise while Garrett looks real fucking amused.

“You good there?” Garrett asks. “A little thirsty?”

“Shut. Up!” I growl. “And get me out of this.”

“Someone had some fun.” Garrett laughs, pulling his pocket knife free.

“Oh my god. What did they do?” Callie asks. “Are you okay?”

“She’s fine,” Garrett says. “Aren't you, Lola?”

“I hate you.” I glare up at him.

“No, you don’t.” He grins back.

“Why was your face in the water?” Callie asks as Garrett frees me.

I rub my hands up and down my arms, the burn from the ropes still lingering.

“Do you really wanna know?” I ask her, raising a brow.

“You know what?” She raises her hands. “I really don’t.”

“Good answer.”

“But are you okay?” Callie asks, her eyes flicking between mine.

“I’m okay." I smile. “A mess and in need of a shower, but okay.”

“Good, because when I saw the guys come back without you, I was worried.”

“You think they would just leave her behind if she were hurt?” Garrett asks.

“No. But… why didn’t you come back with them? Why did they leave you out here tied up like this?”

“Because,” I grumble. “I might have stabbed Sylas in the thigh with my heel, hit Wesley in the head with the other one, and kneed Jasper hard enough in the balls for him to actually bend over in pain.”

“Fucking hell.” Callie bursts out laughing. “You all really are kinky.”

Laughing, I shake my head. “Trust me, babe, you don’t even know the half of it.”

And, I can’t wait to see what fucked up shit they have planned for me next.

SYLAS

“I don’t like this,”Jasper grumbles as he watches the camera feed on his phone.

“She’s done this a million times. She’s going to be fine,” I tell him, crowding him as I watch from over his shoulder.

“This is different. She’s used to working within New Orleans city limits, not Baton Rouge. Different jurisdiction, different police department. We’re on their turf now.”

“True, but, it’s the NOPD that is in charge of this case. Anything Butterfly Killer related will be handed over to them,” Wesley points out.
