Sylas, Wesley, and Jasper are monsters, too. It’s why we’re so perfect for one another.
And tonight, they’re going to see it forthemselves.
The blonde girl stops to fix her heel, falling behind as the other two continue down the street.
With a pleased grin, I look around, making sure no one's eyes are on us before stepping up behind her.
She stands up, looking around for her friends. That's when I grab her arm and yank her into the alley.
My hand is over her mouth before she can even scream, my blade pressed against her throat. Adding the right amount of pressure, I slide the blade across her neck and feel the warmth of her sticky blood pour free.
Her body goes limp, and I let it drop to the ground. “Sorry about that,” I say, wiping the blood from my blade onto her dress before slipping it back into my pocket. “You really should have just enjoyed some time with your friends. It’s not nice to flirt with other people's boyfriends.” I roll her over, searching her for a wallet.
A purse.Bingo.
Opening it up, I rummage through until I find her ID. “Well, Allison Ruby. It was nice to meet you.” I take my phone out of my pocket and pop off the cover. Behind it is the list I’ve been keeping with all the names of the girls I’ve killed.
Not just the ones in the guys’ honor, but in mine too.
“You happen to have a pen or something?” I grumble, searching through her purse. “Oh! Eyeliner will work.”
Popping the cap off, I scribble her name down and fold the paper back up, putting it back into my phone case.
“Thanks.” I put the eyeliner and ID back.
Getting to my feet, I stare down at her. “This was fun, but I gotta go find your friends now. Enjoy the rest of your night!” I wave goodbye to her before slipping out of the alley.
It takes me a few minutes, but I manage to find the girls. They’re looking around, I’m assuming for their friend.
“You go across the street, and I’ll look back the way we came. Maybe she just went into another bar,” the brunette one says.
“Okay.” The one with black hair nods.
They split up, and I shake my head. “It’s like they want to make this easy for me.”
The girl heads back the way we just came, looking into stores andrestaurants. She’s coming up on the alley where her friend's dead body is, and I shrug.
“Hey,” I call out, getting her attention. “Are you looking for a blonde girl in a red dress?”
The brunette turns around and smiles. “Yes!” she sighs.
“I just saw her go into that alley as I was walking by. I think she was puking.”
“Of course she was,” she sighs. “Thanks!”
She steps into the alley. “Allison?” she asks. “Are you okay?” She rushes over to her friend. “Oh my god. Allison!” She turns to look at me. “Call 911.”
“I could. But… I won’t,” I tell her.
“What?!” she gapes up at me in horror. “But my friend, she’s hurt.”
“I know.” I grin, but she can’t see it behind the mask. “I killed her.”
Her lips part, terror filling her gaze.
“It’s okay. You’re about to join her.”
Before she can say anything else, my knife is freed from my pocket once again, my hand wrapped tightly around the hilt as I drive the blade into her throat. She makes a choking sound. I twist the blade a few times, making sure to do as much damage as I can.
