“Hear you knocked my sister up,” Johnny Mack announces, holding his hand out for me to shake.

Woods’ gaze cuts to me along with every other brother standing here.

Kaylene smiles. “I just told Gray this morning. We’ve not had time to talk about it.”

Fucking hell.

“I don’t think I need to tell you to treat her right.”

“Of course.”

I’m going to be sick.

“Let’s talk about how this is going to work and what you expect your cut to be.” Woods steers him back to business.

“Our grandfather was the warden of the prison for twenty years. If I paly my cards right, I’ll follow in his footsteps.” Johnny Mack prattles on about how he knows the prison like the back of his hand and how he basically runs the show with the big timers. Gang members.

He helped protect Dirty. Made sure he was connected to the right people.

He kept him alive when we couldn’t be there to have his back.

This shit goes deep.

I can’t focus on what the specifics of this deal are. My life is flashing before my eyes. Woods and Dirty want this deal. This partnership rests on my relationship with Kaylene. That’s why she’s here. To keep me in line. To make sure she gets what she wants out of this.

How long has she been planning this?

Did she get pregnant on purpose?

What the hell am I going to tell Willow?

There’s only one choice.

I have to make her hate me.

That’s the only way I keep Kaylene happy and her brother in our pocket.

The club comes first.

Chapter Fourteen

“You slick fucker. Why didn’t you tell me Kaylene is pregnant?” Woods slaps me on the back when we get back to the clubhouse to celebrate this new partnership.

“I’m as shocked as you are.”

“Shit is looking up. I’m finally going to be able to scrape Faye off. Our kids are going to grow up together just like us,” He grins.

Right. Jessika. She’s pregnant, but the baby is her ex-husband’s.

I guess he’s claiming the kid and her. I’m happy for him, but I feel like my life is over. I had everything I wanted within my grasp. I’m VP of the club. Business is growing. I had Willow and now I’m going to lose her and do the one thing I knew I would.

I’m going to break her heart.

She’ll be better off washing her hands of me.
