“Why you say that?”

“You know you fine Reese with them hazel eyes.” I chuckled, biting my lip. She can thank my dad for that. He blessed a nigga for real.

“I’m aight, baby.” I stood up from the table. “I’m finna get out of here, though. You good?”

“Yeah.” Danielle turned toward the refrigerator.

When I walked into the room where Rayna went, she was balled up in one of the chairs in the corner. “What’s up, sis?”

“I’m good, Reese. You didn’t need to come check on me. Go find something to do.” I ignored her attitude, and nudged her leg.

“What’s up with you and Danielle? And don’t tell me nothing.”

“I hired her because I liked her,” she clarified with bitterness in her tone. “We had something going on until she realized who I was.” I knew my sister was bi, but I had never seen her with a female before. “And just like everybody else, she used me to get to you....”

Chapter 10

Ronnie

I wokeup sore as hell. Nobody had ever put it on me that good before. When I got back home last night, it was after two in the morning. I didn’t even take a shower, just went straight to bed.

Now, I’m on my way to the studio with food for Sin. After the night we had, I figured I’ll give us a try and see where it takes me. I think he meant it when he said that he liked me. I also got the information he needed for the dude. I’m not sure what he needed the address for. My guess is he probably already had it and lost it.

When I turned the corner, the first thing I spotted is a security guard standing at the door. As I got closer, I knew somebody was inside recording. The music could be heard from down the hall. Balancing the food in one hand and my satchel in the other, I struggled to open the door. The guard just stood there like a statue, as if he doesn’t see me fighting to hold everything up. As soon as my hand touched the doorknob, it was pulled open.

“Shit!” I muttered, jumping back.

A head peeked around, and I noticed hazel eyes immediately.

“Damn. That’s my fault, Ms. Lady.” Reese’s axe cologne invaded my nose when he came to stand in front of me.

“You hurt?” He scanned my body for bruises, then turned toward the security dude with a frown.

“Why the fuck you ain’t help her,” he yelled at him.

I knew he was only concerned for me.

“I’m fine.” I balanced the bag on my shoulder. “Is Sin inside?”

“Uh, nah, he ain’t make it in yet. It’s just me recording.” Reese rubbed the back of his neck.

“Oh!” I looked down at the time. It was well past eight in the morning. Even though Sin didn’t give me a time to come by, I thought he’d be here by now.

“You can wait inside if you want to. I was finna send my driver for some food.” I got this for Sin, but ain’t no need for it to go to waste.

“I brought some. You can get this.”

“Nah, Ms. Lady. Ain’t that for Sincere?” he asked with his head tilted to the side. When I nodded, he added, “I’mma send my driver. It’s all good.”

I reached out to stop him before he could walk away.“I want you to have it, but I do wanna wait. If it ain’t no trouble.”

“Not at all.” He opened the door, letting me walk in first. The smell of smoke hit my nose immediately as I tried looking around the fog.

“Yeah, I had some weed this morning,” he admitted when he noticed me fanning the air. “I’m usually here by myself at this time of day. Sin doesn’t come until one.” Reese sat in the black leather chair at the mixer. “He told you to come this early?”

He sat back, spreading his legs to get more comfortable. He had on gray joggers, a plain black t-shirt, and Jordan slides. Real hood nigga shit.

“No, I just assumed he would be here. I thought rappers lived in the studio,” I joked and his smile lit up the room. “Some of us do.”
