“I’m not doing anything.”
“You’re giving me motivation to keep going, because I get to kiss you and I want more.” He kisses me again and then he jumps up and is on his feet. “Come on.” He holds out a hand to me.
As soon as I take it, he lifts me to stand in front of him. “Where are we going?” I ask.
“Back to the room. I want to devour you, and I don’t want to risk strangers walking in and getting a glimpse of your pussy.”
I don’t argue or object to his plan. Instead, I let him lead me out of the gym and over to the bank of elevators. Alfie’s holding his shirt in his hand, and when we step into the elevator, there are two women in their early-twenties waiting inside. Very scantily-dressed women, whose greedy eyes immediately take in all that is Alfie.
He pulls me in and presses the number for our floor while the women continue to stare. It’s driving me insane. I have no claim over him, but I don’t want other women staring at him either. I have no idea what to do, because if I say something, I look like a lunatic. And if I do something like lean up on my toes and kiss Alfie right here, there’s a chance he could push me away. Or he’d see right through me and know I’m trying to stake my claim on him.
“Fuck me, your ass is giving me a boner in those shorts, babe,” Alfie growls in a low tone, and I know the other two women heard him because they both stifle laughs.
The moment I turn to look at him, Alfie’s hand touches my face and he presses his lips to mine.
“So fucking hard,” he whispers against my mouth and then winks at me.
Chapter Twenty
After making it back to the Royal Flush, I left Molly in her room. She looked exhausted and said she needed to catch up with Angus. I have no doubt plotting and scheming how she’s going to attempt to take over my city.
A smile crosses my lips. A part of me wants her to win, just so I can see the look of achievement on her face when she does. Of course I have no fucking intentions of letting her. I’m nota fucking idiot. I’ve got a business to run. And if she comes in with her knock-down, rebuild bullshit, that’s going to impact my business.
I walk into my father’s office.
“You done gallivanting around the country with the enemy?” he asks without lifting his gaze to mine. All three of my uncles are in the office with him. Uncle Sammie, Uncle Carlo, and Tío E.
“She’s not the fucking enemy,” I grunt. “She also has a name.”
“Molly Olive, right? Or have you already gone and made it Giuliani?” He smirks at me like he’s told the fucking joke of the century.
“Only fools marry a woman they’ve known for two days, Louie,” Tío E retorts. “Alfie is smarter than you.”
“Fuck you. Marrying Charlotte was the smartest thing I’ve ever done,” my dad says proudly.
“I agree,” Uncle Sammie states. “So, this woman… Is it serious?”
“He carved her initials into his skin, so I’d say it’s pretty fucking serious.”
I turn at my brother’s voice. I glare at him, telling him with my eyes that he’s fucking dead.
“If you ask me, she’s way out of his league.Fartoo good for him,” Hudson adds.
“No one asked you,” I grunt before looking to my dad again. “Did you find out what happened with Aleksei? How the fuck his head exploded?”
“Yeah, he was under the foot of a larger Russian group trying to move into town. Head up by Sergei Ivankov.” My father picks up a remote and then the screen on the wall comes to life. A series of pictures and information spread across it.
I take it all in. “I’ve never seen any of them,” I admit.
“No one has. They’re using people like Aleksei to gain a foothold,” Uncle Carlo explains.
“Okay, so where are these fuckers? I’ll pay them a visit?”
“Not yet,” Dad says. “We need to find out who else is working for them first. Clean the streets.”
“If you take off the head of the snake, the tail dies too,” I tell him.
“If you take the head out, another is already sprouting in its place,” Dad counters. “There’s always another fucker waiting to take the throne.”
