My arms around his neck tightened, and his hand rested on my waist.
Slowly, I broke the kiss. “You shouldn’t have come all this way,” I shook my head. “Youdidn’thave to,” I corrected myself.
“Of course, I did,” he gently brushed a strand of hair out of my face. “Mygirl needed me.”
A sad smile spread across my lips and I kissed him before pulling his body closer to mine. I squeezed him in my arms as hard as I could, and he chuckled.
“Thank you,” I kissed his cheek multiple times before an uncontrollable shriek escaped me.
I let go of him, unable to contain my excitement and the smile that took over his face fixed my shattered spirit.
He sat down and I jumped upright, crossing my legs. “Logan, you really shouldn’t have come. I don’t want you getting in any more trouble,” I admitted.
“Stop worrying so much, yeah?” He cupped the side of my face and I sighed, leaning into his touch. “I missed you too, you know?”
My reply was coated in sarcasm. “Really? Little old me?”
He chuckled, shaking his head at me and I took his hand in mind, entwined our fingers then met his gaze.
“Do Chase and Kaden know you’re here?”
“It’s our secret,” he winked, and blush coated my cheeks. “Why’d you seem so upset when I called earlier?”
“Long day,” I vaguely answered.
“Another substitute?”
I shook my head without looking at him. “Worse. A professor,” I glanced back at him and the corners of his lips lifted into a grin.
I heavily exhaled, looking at our hands in my lap. “I just wantmyprofessor back.”
“No, you can’t skip his classes and have me teach you instead.”
My jaw dropped in disbelief as I shot upright to look at him. “But… why?”
He gave his head a slight shake and I threw my head back with an irritable groan. A grin of mischief played on my lips as I looked at him, running my hands over his broad shoulders. “Buthe’s not as good as you,” I lowered my voice to a murmur as my eyes undressed him.
When I finally met his gaze, something tempting flickered behind his eyes. I shifted, straddling his lap and both his hands gripped my ass instinctively.
He lifted his hips underneath me before leaning back on his hands.
“You’ve only had one lesson with him.”
I leaned in, kissing up his jaw. “One lesson was all I needed,” I murmured, allowing my lips to hover over his ear. “To know that you’re better at it,” I rolled my hips once. I flicked his earlobe with my tongue, arching my back to force my chest into his. “So much better,” I whispered, trailing my nails up the nape of his neck.
“No.”
I rolled my eyes, shifting back to meet his daring gaze. “Logan—”
His fingers wrapped around my throat and he cut me off with a warning. “I’ll tutor you, but you will not skip classes, do you understand me, Dakota?”
I immediately nodded. “Yes. I’m sorry.”
He leaned in, pressing a kiss to my forehead. “Good. Now, I have to go.”
A deep frown formed on my face. “You just got here.”
“I never intended on staying long,” he tucked a few strands behind my ear. “You know I can’t.”
