I hear the door open behind me, but I don’t take my eyes off the view. What’s the point?
“Little bitch,” a voice calls, and I inwardly cringe.
I still don’t turn, because what’s the fucking point? The sooner I look at him, the sooner I’ll be dragged out of this room and forced to face my fate.
A hand grabs my hair, and I’m pulled backward beforebeing shoved onto the bed. I land with a thud, a gasp leaving my lips as I feel the air rushing from my lungs.
“What the fuck?”
Morris looms over me, a sadistic look in his eye as he leers at me. “I hear we’re going to lose you soon,” he coos and makes a tutting sound. “It’s a shame, really. You’ve always been something pretty to look at, and I’ll miss watching that hot ass of yours tiptoe around, trying not to be seen. I’ll miss hearing your screams and cries as I punish you.”
He shrugs and gets even closer to me. “But I guess I can’t really complain about you leaving. Not when I’ve been given the green light to have a little fun before you go.”
Have a little…
“What does that mean?” I rasp, terror filling me as the thoughts crash around in my mind.
He smirks, his dark eyes piercing mine. “Exactly what you think it means.”
SIXTY-EIGHT
HARLEY
The car finally stops, and I look through the window to see Logan and his two brothers getting out of the car. I go to open the door, but Izzy’s voice stops me.
“Wait.” I glance at her, but she’s busy looking up at the building next to us. It’s a high-rise in the middle of the city, where Savannah is being held in her father’s penthouse. “Your girl… is her surname Marks?”
“It is…” I trail off, not knowing what she’s saying.
Her lips quirk into a smile, but it’s not as creepy-looking as Lana’s. “Oh, good, it looks like I have a guy on the inside.”
“You—”
She cuts me off with a wave of her hand. “It’s better if you don’t know,” she says, not taking her eyes off her phone as she types out a message.
I wait impatiently, wanting to get the fuck out of here and to wherever Savannah is, when Izzy’s phone vibrates.
“We need to take the back stairwell. There’ll be less guards if we go that way.”
She’s barely finished her sentence, and I’m jumping out ofthe car and heading to Logan, who is currently standing and…laughing?with his brothers.
Seriously, did I wake up in the fucking twilight Zone today or something?
It’s only when I get closer that I notice a man standing inside the building, staring at them, and I realize they’re just putting on an act for his benefit.
Thank God, because if Logan was actually laughing and joking around, I might have an actual stroke.
“This way,” I murmur under my breath and tilt my head toward the side of the building.
We reach where the others are waiting, but Enzo is grinning from ear to ear.
“This is great. It’s been far too long since I got to do something exciting. Just make sure no one tells my wife because my angel might actually kill me if she knew I was getting into trouble without telling the family.”
“Whyhaven’tyou told anyone?” Damon asks.
Enzo points toward Cole with a quirked brow. “Because if Luca or Marco knew what this one was getting up to, they’d lose their shit. They’re far too sensible nowadays.”
Izzy snorts. “Oh, please, you just wanna save the chaos for us.”
