Vishnu leads Simran and Meher towards the exit. By the time they step outside, his security detail is already in place. Being a politician means his guards are never far away. They’re alert now. He must’ve updated them. Men spread out around the vehicles, scanning, watching, guarding.

Siya stays beside me. I haven’t left her hand since we walked out of the restroom.

Once we’re outside the club, I stop. “Vishnu. Trisha. Take them home.”

I glance over at Ayaan. “We’ll come later.”

Meher abruptly stops. “What? Why? Why aren’t we going together? Is something wrong?”

Ayaan immediately walks over to her. “Nothing’s wrong, sweetheart. We just have something else to take care of. We’ll be home soon.”

But I know my sister-in-law. Living with the Director of the GLEN has taught her enough. I can see the suspicion in her eyes. She can sense that something is off.

Trisha speaks up at once. “I can wait. I’ll stay with you guys.”

“No,” I instantly deny. “I want you withthem. Keep them safe.”

That’s when Siya clutches my arm. “I’m not leaving you, RK.”

I raise my brow, unable to hide how much I like hearing that. Siya reads my expression and immediately corrects herself. “I mean.... if this is happening because of me, then I’m not leaving your side.”

“No chance,” I reply, leading her towards the cars waiting outside the club.

I open the rear door and practically make Siya sit inside. Meher and Trisha get in beside her from the other side. Vishnu takes the wheel and Simran occupies the front seat. Ayaan leans down to the driver’s window.

“Reach home safely and message me.”

Vishnu nods.

Ayaan and I close the rear doors, ensuring our wives are safely seated inside, and tap the roof twice as a silent signal for them to move. The convoy pulls away with Vishnu’s security detail following them in other vehicles.

It’s just us now. Me, Ayaan, and Krish, whose easygoing smile is nowhere to be seen by the time he reaches us.

“I’ve accessed the club’s CCTV feed,” he says, his eyes glued to his phone. “Those men aren’t visible anymore. They’ve disappeared, which means they’ve realised we sensed something.”

His expression hardens.

“Wait.” Krish’s gaze sharpens as he suddenly looks at his screen again. “I’ve got movement. One of them is still here and is heading towards the back exit.”

That’s all I need to hear.

Ayaan and I break into a run. He cuts through the club from the inside, while I circle around from outside. If the b*stard runs back into the club, Ayaan will have him. If he comes out… he’s mine. We’re cornering the same prey from both sides, even though the others have already disappeared.

By the time I reach the back exit, the guy is already pulling open the rear door of a car. A driver is waiting behind the wheel. They’re trying to escape. Not happening.

I grab the b*stard by the collar and pull him backwards before slamming him hard against the side of the car. He spits out a curse and swings at me.

Too slow.

I kick him once and pin him harder against the door just as the driver fires from inside the car. I dodge the bullet. But before he can aim again, Ayaan bursts onto the scene. He yanks open the driver’s door, drags the man out, and lands a vicious punch straight into his face.

The gun flies from the driver’s hand and lands on the car bonnet, while he crashes onto the pavement.

Ayaan takes care of him while I deal with the other b*stard, whose nose is already broken. Blood pours from his nose and mouth, soaking the front of his shirt as I pin him against the car door. His body trembles beneath my grip, but I don’t loosen my hold. Not even an inch.

“Who sent you?” I snarl.

Silence.
