“That’s alright I need to go to the ranch in the evening,” he says.
I ignore the odd dip in my stomach.
“I’d ask you to come, but I’m not sure you’re ready to be interrogated by my family because a few of them know we’re more than dance partners.”
I huff and shake off the feeling. “I’m not sure they’d be very happy to have me there, especiallyif they know.”
He tilts his head. “Hey, that’s not the case. You’re assuming. If I tell them you’re mine, then there’s no room for debate. But I’d like to give us some time to figure that out, married or not.”
He’s right. He might be a great kisser and I’m willing to put money on the fact he’s great in bed, but sex does not make a relationship. I learned that the hard way, and I’m someone who learns their lessons. I don’t repeat them, not anymore.
Ledger grips my ass, pulling me into him, and I roll my lips together, keeping the moan behind them because I can feel exactly how he feels about me.
“Then tell me when our date is,” I command.
He grins. “The day after tomorrow?”
“Perfect,” I breathe and kiss him again.
“Then it’s a date.”
Chapter 19
Ledger
“Shiloh,Ihavetogo,” I mumble against her lips. Before I could get past the living room, she jumped me and I currently have her pinned against the wall while she’s got her fingers through my belt loops, holding me hostage. Not that I mind.
“Just one more,” she whispers.
I oblige her kissing her again and she lets go of my pants throwing her arms around my neck. “No, one more,” she says.
I grin and while I kiss her, and take her wrists, pinning them to the wall. She’s in her diner uniform and it’s giving me ideas.
“Shy, you’re going to make me late,” I grumble.
She groans, resting her head against the wall, letting me hold her arms up. “Can you be, like, ten minutes late?”
“I’m the Sheriff of the whole county, I can’t be late,” I mutter, kissing her on her lips and trailing a line down her neck.
Shiloh sighs, tilting her head to the side, giving me more access. “I can be very convincing, you know,” she says.
“That’s what I’m afraid of,” I mumble into her skin.
She smiles, and it’s like a fist to the heart. I’m feeling so much so fast for her, it’s throwing me off. We need to pace ourselves, and I need to get my head on straight.
I drop her wrists and slide my hands over her ass and squeeze.
She squeaks and I chuckle.
“You’re going to be late too.”
“I don’t care.”
“Wait, I’m driving you.”
Shiloh bursts out laughing, and I shake my head. “You’re making me lose my mind, woman.”
She winks and walks around me grabbing her things. “That means I’m doing my job right.”
