“Fuck, Miles.” Her nails drag down my chest. “I’m coming. I’m coming.”
“That’s it, sugar.” My hands grip her waist, helping her move fast. “Come for me. Let me see how beautiful you are when you come on my cock.”
The moment I feel her walls clamping my cock, I let myself go.
“Fuck,” I growl against her breasts.
If this is what loving the same woman for the rest of my life feels like, sign me the hell up.
“Table for two, please,” I tell the hostess when we make it down to the resort restaurant.
After another round in the shower, Penny insisted we get dressed up and have a proper supper.
Like I’d ever say no to anything she asks me for.
The hostess walks us to our table and explains the specials before leaving us with menus and a bottle of wine.
“What do you feel like having?” I ask, already knowing I’m ordering the steak.
Penny studies the menu with a tiny frown.
“I don’t know,” she whines. “Everything I eat lately keeps betraying me. At this point I’m about to survive on water and air alone.”
The vulnerability in her voice hits me harder than I expect. I hate seeing her uncomfortable.
“Maybe go simple?” I suggest gently. “How about potatoes and fish? Or chicken?”
She hums thoughtfully and keeps scanning the menu until the waiter returns to take our order.
Once we’re alone again, I reach for my wineglass.
“I’m not rushing you,” I say carefully, “but have you thought about when you want to head home?”
Penny exhales slowly.
“Maybe in a couple of days?” She shrugs lightly. “Unless you already have work lined up. We can leave whenever you need to.”
Then guilt flashes across her face.
“I’m sorry,” she says quickly. “I shouldn’t have assumed you could just take off without asking first. Besides, I need to go see my parents and figure out how to help with the fall from the wedding.”
“Hey.” I reach for her hand. “It’s okay. I do have a new job I need to get back to. But I only started last week. I told them I had to take a couple of days off for a family emergency. And whenever you’re ready, my family wants to see us too.”
Her eyes start watering, and it takes everything in me not to drag her onto my lap right here in the middle of the restaurant.
“Hey, boss.” I squeeze her hand gently. “Look at me.”
When she finally does, I continue.
“I said it’s okay.” I wait until some of the panic leaves her expression. “A couple of days is not a big deal.” I brush mythumb across her cheek. “And honestly, I rather be here with you than dealing with the crew.”
She frowns. “Why? Did they do or say something?”
“Nah, they’re just ugly assholes. You, on the other hand…” I wiggle my eyebrows.
A laugh bursts out of her. “You’re the worst.”
“And still you chose me.”
