I laughed, feeling lighter despite the events of the past few minutes.
“She’s all right,” someone said.
I jerked my attention toward the voice, my attention landing on Ian.“We’ll take care of her.”
Something in his gaze said he wasn’t making empty promises, either.
I nodded.
“Can we have cake now?”Ransom called out from the back of the room.“That’s the only reason I’m here.”
“Yes,” Edge said.“Let’s have cake.”

“She’s all right,” I told Edge when I came to the bedroom to find Jamie snuggled up, sound asleep beside him.“I just got off the phone with Isaac.”
“They’ve got a thing for her,” he noted, his voice low.
“I’d say so.Ian and Isaac are with Everly and Heaven, plus whoever their other roommate is.Dante something or other.They’re safe, so that’s a good thing.”
Then again, safe was a relative word.They were safe from harm, I knew.Ian and Isaac wouldn’t hurt them, but they might have something else in store.
“Dante?”Edge frowned, set his book on the nightstand.
“Isaac didn’t explain it, just said it all seemed to be aimed at him.”
“Hmm.”
I felt the warmth of Edge’s gaze sliding over me as I pulled off my shirt.
“What?”I asked as I unbuttoned my jeans.
“I’m not allowed to observe?”Edge asked.
“Is that what you’re doin’?”Keeping my boxer briefs on, I stepped out of my jeans.
He motioned for me to come over to the other side of the bed.He patted the mattress beside him.
Unable to resist, I slid in, relaxing on the pillow as he told the Google Assistant to turn off the lights.
“I’ve been waiting for you,” he whispered, leaning over me.
“Yeah?”
Warm hands slid over my chest, my ribs, moving lower as his mouth hovered just out of reach.
“I’m here now,” I told him as his fingers slipped under the waistband of my underwear.
“I know.”
“What are you gonna do about it?”
He leaned over, his mouth close to my ear.His voice was a warm whisper over my senses.“I thought I’d start by taking you in my mouth.”
I hummed my approval.
“End by sliding deep into the heaven of your body.”
