He laughed, but it was forced. That was exactly what he’d thought.
I still didn’t know how marriage between three people worked, but after Gretchen’s comment all those months ago, I’d done a little research. While it wouldn’t necessarily be in the conventional sense, a lot of thruples—my new favorite word—actually did enter into a contract that would allow their relationship to mimic a marriage.
To be honest, I didn’t care about any of that.I simply wanted to spend the next seventy or eighty years with these two, loving them, cherishing them.
I still had several years of school laid out in front of me, and while I had never seen myself getting into a relationship before I had my doctorate, I found that school was easier with them in my life.I could focus and enjoy the love I’d found at the same time.True to their word, Cav and Edge had supported me for the past few months, ensuring I went to class every day, and on my days off, they made sure we spent as much time as possible together.
The thought of living with them, spending more time with them, it stole my breath and made my heart smile.
Both men took my left hand, then each slipped something cool over my ring finger. When they released me, I lifted my fingers, staring at the diamonds. They were far bigger than they should’ve been, and they’d been designed to connect together, another symbol that the three of us were connected as one.
Tears dripped from my cheeks, and I didn’t even realize I was crying.I also didn’t notice as they got to their feet, moving around me and embracing me between them.I welcomed the safety and security I’d come to know when I was in their arms.
“So what do we do next?”I asked, a sob following the words, making me laugh.
“I’m thinkin’ we should go back to the apartment, play out this whole watchin’ TV thing.”Cav’s sexy smirk made my body tingle.“With you laid out naked between us.”
“Hmm.That sounds like a good plan,” I agreed.“Whoever came up with that idea is pretty brilliant, don’t you think?”
“Brilliant,” Edge agreed, taking my hand.“And naughty.”
“Very naughty,” Cav echoed.
While they locked up the new apartment and led me back to the elevator, I kept my eyes on the engagement rings on my finger.
“You like them?”Edge asked when we stepped out on their floor.
“They’re beautiful,” I mumbled.
“Glad you think so,” Edge said with a smirk.“Because in about three minutes, they’ll be the only thing you’re wearing.”
I laughed, then moaned as they made good on that promise, stripping me in the middle of the living room before settling me on the sofa between them.
“What are we watching?”I asked, glancing over at the television.
“Does it even matter?”Cav joked.
I looked his way to see his heated gaze traveling slowly over every inch of my body.I inhaled sharply when his skilled fingers skimmed my legs, moving higher.
“It really doesn’t,” I assured him, trying to spread my legs to get him closer to where I needed him.
“I’ll be right back,” Edge said, shifting out from under my head.
“Where’s he going?”I asked, watching as he went down the hall to his bedroom.
“Not my concern right now,” Cav mumbled, his thumb gliding over my clit.
My back bowed as the onslaught of sensation stole the air right out of my lungs.I moaned, grinding my hips, trying to intensify the pressure of his thumb.
“Cav … please…”
He chuckled and moved. His movements were so quick and unexpected that the only thing I could do was laugh as he tossed me over his shoulder.
I giggled uncontrollably as he followed the same path Edge had taken, right to their bedroom.
“Tonight, sweetness,” Edge said when Cav set me on the bed, “we’re in charge.”
“Is that right?”I taunted.
