CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE

Luna

After Christian’s knot releases, I leave him to shower in my room. He offers to shower with me, but I know that will just lead to more shenanigans.

As happy as I am to reconnect with him, there are other men who need my attention tonight.

Standing at the top of the stairs, I take a deep breath before heading to the first floor.

I can hear them moving around the kitchen, and I wonder if they ended up here because of what Christian and I were doing upstairs.

Biting my lip, I pause in the doorway, watching as the four of them move around one another as they prepare dinner. I never would’ve guessed that Prescott was new to the group as he moves just as seamlessly as the others.

I have no idea what they’re making, as it seems they’re in the beginning stages—which I consider a win because I plan on distracting them from their task.

None of them notice me watching them, so I clear my throat. “Hi.”

Four sets of eyes jerk toward me, and I force myself not to take a step back.

They’re all looking at me hungrily, making my heart pound in my chest.

“Done already?” Knight teases, setting aside the carrots he was chopping so he can stalk toward me.

“Um, yes?” I squeak, darting out of his reach. “I was hoping the five of us could talk?”

Mack chuckles. “Is that what we’re calling it now?”

My cheeks flush as I purse my lips. “Damn it. This is serious.”

Everyone immediately stops moving.

“I’m sorry, Luna.” Knight holds his hands up in surrender.

“No, it’s fine. I just… I want to talk to you guys. Thank you for making dinner, but are you at a point where you can hit pause? I’d prefer to have this conversation in the living room.”

Prescott picks up a package of meat and deposits it back in the fridge. “We’ve barely even started.”

My eyes dance around the room, taking in each of their faces before spinning on my heel and backtracking to the living room.

As I pass Knight, he reaches for my hand. I offer him a smile, linking our hands together.

I can hear the others trailing behind us, and I try to force down my nerves.

I don’t even understand why I’m so fucking nervous about this.

“Take a deep breath, Luna,” Knight murmurs as he sits on the couch and drags me onto his lap.

Without hesitation, I do just that as Prescott drops onto the couch beside us. Mack and Ven choose to sit on the coffee table opposite us.

Having all of their attention on me is a lot, but I’ll have to get used to it, won’t I?

“I talked to Christian?—”

“Talked?” Ven scoffs, his jaw tense.

I want to snap at him, but it’s easy to see it’s just his jealousy talking.

“Yes, we talked first. Just like we’re talking first,” I tell him. “I’m sure you’ve been able to surmise that Christian and I are going to give this another go. He doesn’t remember me, but he feels drawn to me. I still love him, and I won’t give him up now that he’s back in my life. Before we move forward, that’s something I need you to accept.”
