He finds me sitting alone at the bar a few hours later and hands me a file.“She’s hot.”He grins, nodding toward the picture of her he’s put on top of the file.“What do you want with her?”

“Nothing,” I reply, clapping my hand on his shoulder.“We never had this conversation.”

Blade shakes his head and disappears before I can say anything else—I like that about him.

Only then do I pull out the paperwork and get a look at her.

She’s younger than I had imagined.Thirty years old.

Chin-length dark hair, big hazel eyes, and pouty lips.

She’s stunning.

I read the rest of the file and find nothing incriminating.

She’s an only child, studied her ass off, and lives alone.She does a dance class once a week and volunteers at the local animal shelter.

She’s almost too good to be true.

Deciding to sleep on it, the second my eyes open the next morning, I know what I’m going to do.

Maybe the doc and I do need to have a little heart-to-heart after all.

Waiting until she finishes work and gets into her car, I follow behind her.

You know what, I am going to speak to her.I’ve got a lot going on in my head, and she might be the one to get my mind off things.
