“Alec told you about her?”

I nod.“Yes, he did.He loved her very much.”

He reaches out and grips my neck, squeezing.“You don’t know anything about it.Just because you’re his whore, don’t think that you’ll ever understand him.”He lets go, and I sag back onto the bed, while he starts to pace. When he storms out of the room and slams the door, I let my first tear fall.

How long am I going to have to wait here?

Are there other men here?

The thought makes me feel sick.

I swallow past the lump in my throat. What will the MC do?I doubt they’re going to simply hand that money over, because then Henry will keep using me against Ghost, pulling this bullshit.

I suppose that’s club business and up to them.

I need to stay alive.

I try to get my hand out of the cuff, but it doesn’t budge, nor does trying to break the chain.I get off the bed and stand up, looking around for something I can use.But aside from a window and a desk, the room is empty. It almost looks like a hospital room.

I don’t know where they took me or how long I was out.

But I do know one thing for sure.

Ghost is going to come for me.

And Henry is going to regret it.

GHOST

Something is wrong.

I feel it in my gut.

I’m about to call Patch and find out where Xanthe is when he callsme.

Something is definitely wrong.

“Where is she?”I bark.

“I followed her to a bookstore, then I went and got a coffee. When I got back, she was gone,” he admits, cursing under his breath.“I’m sorry, Ghost.I was only gone for five minutes. Her car is here, but she’s gone.I’ve looked inside the entire store and all the shops around. Can Angel hack into the cameras?”

“I’ll deal with you later,” I mutter, ending the call and clicking on Angel’s name.Fear, as I’ve never felt before, is trying to take over my body, but I push it down.I need a clear head to find her.

“Yeah?”

“Angel, I need you, brother.”

There’s no hesitation.“Tell me.”

“Xanthe is missing. She was last seen at the bookstore around the corner from her house.Fairy Tales, I think it’s called.”

“Yeah, I know the one.I’m on it.”

Next, I call Prez and update him.He calls a quick church, while I get on my bike and ride over to the bookstore. Her car is still there, and Patch is parked next to it, leaning against his bike and looking at the ground.

He knows he has fucked up.

I’m pissed, but I’m not going to pour my energy into hurting him.Not right now, anyway.
