“Zaylee’s stupid, trifling whoring ass sent me a video of a nigga eating her funky ass coochie!” I said as my voice got louder the more I talked about the shit out loud the angrier I got.
With her eyes wide as two saucers, Solana said. “She really sent you that video? I can’t believe she went through it.”She giggle the last part, and I had to hold my tongue cause wasn’t shit funny right now.
“The fuck you mean she really sent it. You put her up to this shit?” I barked at Solana, ready to chew her fucking head off if she had something to do with Zaylee sending me this video.
“Nigga,” Lo harshly said stepping in my direction. “Watch how you talk to her. If you wanna know something ask but you not finna disrespect her over some shit she really ain’t got nothing to do with.” If I wasn’t so pissed right now I would have called Lo out. Him stepping in to check me over Solana was a tall tell sign the nigga loved her but that wasn’t my focus right now.
“My bad Solana,” I quickly said.
“No biggie but I don’t understand why you so mad when you sent her a video of you getting your dick sucked first. What you expected her to do? Cry?”
Chuckling, I threw my head back. I know I looked crazy as fuck, but I was really trying to keep my cool. “My video wasn’t real. That ain’t me in that video.”
“Huh?” Solana asked, making a guilty face.
“Huh?” I mocked her. “My video came off a porn site. It ain’t hard to tell that’s not me.”
“Well damn,” Solana replied in a shaky voice.
“I’m about to go kill that bitch,” I said heading towards the front door.
As I was opening the door it was pushed forward and I had to step back so I wouldn’t get hit by the door. In walked Connie Winston. If I was into older bitches Connie would be the type I fucked with. She was prim, proper, and never had a hair out of place. A thick yellow bone bitch that had an ass that didn’t miss. I swear if she was about ten years younger I would have fucked the dog shit out of her. Connie was the head financialofficer of the city of Beaumont. We had a contract with the city of Beaumont; it was actually our largest contract.
“Hello, gentlemen. Hope I didn’t come at an inconvenient time.” Connie said peering around the room. “I won’t be long.”
“Nah, you straight. What brings you by. You usually call when you need something.” Marlo said as he made his way around the front counter.
“Business. I’ve told to let you know that we won’t be renewing our contract with you next month. We’ve found a more affordable company who can offer the same quality of work.” She spoke calmly through a tight lipped expression.
“What you mean?” I asked, mugging her old ass.
“I was pretty clear on what I meant. Why would we pay more for what we can get for less? Don’t take it personal. It happens. I do hope there are no hard feelings. We will still send out recommendations for B&B.”
“Aww thanks,” I sarcastically replied to her. “Fuck a recommendation, who the fuck y’all giving our contract to?”
“Well, it is a new company, so we aren’t going under a contract with them right away. SO, there is a chance that if things don’t work out we will come back here.”
“Y’all cheap asses leaving a company you know for a fact gone take care of business for a company that has no experience just to save a little bit of money?” Marlo asked with an amused expression.
“Every penny counts right?” Connie tried to make a joke, but nobody laughed with her corny ass.
“This some bullshit,” I spat angrily.
“Nah, be cool Bruh. They wanna leave let them. We appreciate you giving us the heads up. You can go now.” Lo said to Connie and she nodded at us then turned on her heels making her way right back out the door.
“How the fuck you so calm about this shit. You know how much money we just lost?” I asked turning to look at Lo.
“They dumb asses gon’ be back and when they come back we finna charge them bitches triple what they were paying before. Trust me.” Lo confidently said.
One thing I knew was Lo didn’t play when it came to our business, so I trusted what he was saying, I just prayed everything was gonna work out in our favor.
Chapter 25
Marlo Wattson
“You know I never thought you’d be anything like your dad. Maybe Mikael but not you.” I rolled my eyes at my mama as her voice echoed throughout my truck.
Without a doubt I was closer with my mama than my daddy, but I kept my mama at arm’s length. I don’t know if it was my dad leaving her or what made her so bitter. She spoke facts with a twist of negativity. My mama was one of those people who could suck the joy out of a room. Nobody really wanted to be aroundher because she drained your energy. Like the rant she went on after Braxton was born. She didn’t understand there was a time and a place for everything. I tried not to let my mama's negativity stop me from dealing with her too much. I mean she helped a lot with my kids, so I let a lot of shit slide. Since Fallon went back to work my mama kept Braxton until I got off of work which is why I answered my phone when she called, I wanted to make sure he was straight. I wasn’t expecting her to go on one of her triads as soon as I answered the phone. I really wasn’t in the mood to hear the shit; I had enough on my plate than to hear what my mama had to nitpick about.
