“Was tonight everything you wanted, princess?” He lightly strokes down my side.
“Back to princess?” I tease.
“Always. You can be both for me, Sara. A filthy slut and a perfect princess.” He yawns at the end of that sentence.
“I really enjoyed our date.” I smile, remembering the restaurant and the beautiful garden. “The sex was perfect.”
“Good.” He draws me in tighter against him and his cock fills out more. “I want to sleep with you like this, but I understand if you want to take a quick shower.”
I sigh, feeling my body relax into his. “Maybe in a minute.”
“Fuck, I’m going to fall asleep if we don’t get up.”
“So don’t get up.” I tangle our fingers together on my stomach.
“Neither of us wants to deal with the consequences of that, princess.” He draws out of me and I groan at the loss, but he helps me off the bed. When we get in the shower, he cleans up and then carefully cleans me. After drying off, he cleans the toy while I use the water closet.
When I step into the bedroom, he has the sheets turned down and sits on the edge of the bed naked, waiting for me. He holds his hand out to me and I step between his legs, running my fingers through his hair.
“I had a great night.” I lean down and kiss him softly.
He hums against my lips and draws me down to straddle his lap. His dark eyes follow his fingers as he tucks my hair behind my ears. Then his warm gaze settles on me.
“I wanted to show you that this isn’t just about sex for me.” He swallows and I search his eyes. He’s completely serious. “I want to be able to take you out and show you off. I’m proud as hell about you. You’re intelligent and kind and you get me. Not to mention gorgeous and wonderful in bed.”
My cheeks heat. “Drew?—”
“I’m not done.” He presses his lips to mine briefly. “I want you to keep your mind open for me, to me. I want this not to just be something you do to experiment. I want to be your endgame. But I also realize you need this. You need them. And I’m one hundred percent on board with it.”
He smooths his thumb over my lower lip and my heart flutters.
“When you need out of this, you can escape with me. Always.”

After my shower, I pull my hair back in a bun and step out into the living room.
Peabody trots up to me and yips. It’s the middle of the night, but when he races to the door, I know it’s nonnegotiable. I grab his leash and hook him up.
It’s quiet in the elevator, but in the lobby there’s a group of people waiting to go up. I carry Peabody.
“Aw, what’s his name?” A young woman reaches out to pet Peabody, obviously distracted by the dog.
“Peabody.”
Her eyes lift to mine and they widen.
“And what’s your name?” A different look washes over her as she checks me out.
I just shake my head and walk around her.
I can feel her gaze on my back. Before, I might have offered my name and been friendly, but I don’t need a woman in the building flirting with me in front of Sara. Especially when I can’t say I’m seeing someone.
The night air is crisp and traffic is still thick because it’s Friday night. Normally, the four of us would go out to a club or bar. We’d drink and talk and flirt with women. At some point, we’d make choices and maybe bring someone home. Finn and Tom always brought someone home.
