“I’m not sure what we’re doing now, but I need to protect you. I need you to help me sleep. It feels wrong when you aren’t in my arms.” Our eyes are locked. His cock nudges at my entrance before he thrusts into me deep. “You’re ours, princess.”

I gasp as his cock stretches me. Part of me whispersfor now. But my heart thumps, buying in to the sweet things they say andthe lengths they’re willing to go to make sure I’m with them in the next chapter of our lives.

But it’s still so early. Here in this moment though, I’m his.

I give in to the feelings swelling inside me as our eyes lock, and we rock together, chasing our release. It feels like too much, too intimate, after all the things we’ve done together.

When his forehead touches mine, his pale blue eyes are almost black with desire. He’s here with me. He wants to be here with me. Maybe it’s time to really let that sink in.

His hand slips between us and circles my clit. My lips part as he pushes me higher and higher.

“Luke,” I whisper. I’m falling, and he’s there with me as I come around his cock and he fills me. We strain to get as close as possible as my pussy convulses around him.

Together we breathe as we come back down to earth.

When he kisses me, for a second, everything feels perfect. He helps me back to my feet, and we rinse and wash a little before we grab towels.

As I’m drying off, he sighs.

“My father.” He wraps the towel around his waist and touches me like he can’t bear not to.

I swallow because I’m not sure I’m ready to hear what his father wants. That guy gives me the creeps.

“Yourfather took something he wants back.” Luke searches my eyes as I process what he’s saying.

“My father?” My brain melts down a little. Not able to comprehend. My father isn’t a part of my life. I don’t even know where he went. He’s never reached out. Never tried to be part of my life.

Luke cups my cheek. “He worked for my dad, and when he disappeared, he took something important to my father.”

“What?”

“I don’t know, princess, but we’re going to find out.”

CHAPTER 37

The Barricade

Harper

When Luke and I come downstairs, Mom is waiting at the island. She points to the stools in front of the counter where two cups of coffee and two plates of toast and eggs wait.

“Sit.”

Warily, I drop my backpack by the door and sit down next to Luke. My heart is racing, but I take a sip of the coffee. She can’t be too mad. Right? She made us breakfast.

Or maybe she was furious and made us breakfast to keep from tearing down the door and grounding me?

I swallow, and my hand slides into Luke’s next to me. He squeezes it, and a little burst of warmth races through me. Who would have thought I’d turn to Luke Foster for comfort?

“I know you’re teenagers and sneaking around is—I won’t say it, but you know it can make people feel a certain way. Like forbidden romance.” She’s rambling. That’s not a good sign. If she offers to buy more condoms, I’m going to sink into the ground right here.

She looks at both of us. “What I’m failing to say so eloquently is you don’t have to sneak aroundthatmuch for me.”

I tilt my head to one side. “What does that mean?”

“Meaning...” Her mouth snaps shut. Her brow furrows, and then she opens her mouth again and rubs her temple like she has a headache. “You know, you weren’t supposed to be a tough kid. You haven’t been. But damn if you don’t go big. I appreciate you all were honest about your relationship with me. I’m glad you have a social life, and they seem to make you happy.”

Oh, fuck, could she hear us in the shower? Or does she think we had sex last night? I don’t want my mom thinking about me having sex. And definitely not with five guys.
