We finished packing and called Damien and Chris to pick us up. Everyone helped me load my boxes into the SUV that Damien was driving before Alexis and Bianca hugged me goodbye.
“Dmitry’s at the house using Alexis’s laptop to install some new code on their financial program I’ll never understand,” Bianca murmured in my ear. “I’m going make him stay fordinner. I’ll have Chris drive him home at ten. Put the lace dress to use, Katia.”
Laughing, I tightened my arms around her. “You’re a saint. Thank you, Bianca.”
They climbed into the SUV with Chris, and I climbed into the back seat of Damien’s SUV.
“Ready?” he asked, looking at me in the rear-view mirror.
“Ready,” I said with a nod.
As he drove away, I turned to look at the home I’d inhabited for so many years. I’d grown so much there, but it had also allowed me to remain stilted in so many ways.
“On to bigger and better things, Katia,” I whispered to myself, the building blurring in the rear window as my eyes welled with tears.
Ready for the future, I settled into the comfy leather seat and allowed Damien to take me to the home where I would build the next chapter of my life with the man who’d made me believe in love once again.
Chapter 22
Leo
After my meeting with Michael, I headed to the office to complete some paperwork. We received a tip from the NYPD about a body that had washed up on Jones Beach, and I was dispatched to the scene. A twenty-year-old woman had been sexually assaulted and murdered, her body bloated as it rested on the shore. Such a waste of a life that had barely started.
I let Katia know I’d be home around seven and finished processing the scene with Jermaine. After returning to the office to complete my initial notes, I wanted to leave the day far behind. Tomorrow’s meeting with Michael and Marco would be intense, and I needed to be fresh.
As I drove home, I imagined having Katia wrapped around me in our bed; her scent surrounding me as she cuddled into my side. Falling asleep with her was the favorite part of my day—followed closely by making love to herbeforewe fell asleep.
Arriving home, I parked in the driveway and double checked the gate locks. Entering through the kitchen back door, I held my phone in my hand as I finished a text to Jermaine.
“Katia? Dima?”
The house was silent, so I walked to the living room, wondering if they were watching TV. Stepping inside the threshold, I froze, my mouth falling open as my phone fell to the carpet.
“Well, hello, agent,” Katia said, her voice sultry as she sprawled on the couch in some sort of dark lacy thing that hugged every curve of her gorgeous body. “How was your day?”
I worked my mouth, but words failed me as I gazed at the most beautiful image I’d ever seen.
Chuckling, she rose and sauntered toward me. Turning away, she slowly bent over and reached for my phone. Her ass splayed high in the air; the globes barely covered by the skimpy lace. Unable to control my hands, I reached for her, rubbing my palms over her ass.
The lacy material was silky smooth, and she purred as I caressed her.
She picked up my phone and straightened, placing it on the side table before facing me. Lifting to her bare toes, she pecked my lips. “Do you like my dress?”
“Jesus. Fucking. Christ,” I whispered, unable to utter anything else.
Her sultry laugh surrounded me as she tugged me toward the couch. “I’ll take that as a yes.”
She unbuttoned my shirt, pushing it off my shoulders and discarding it before reaching for my belt. My fingers flew to help her, and she stilled them.
Lifting those fathomless green eyes to mine, she softly commanded, “Let me. I’m taking the lead this time.”
She didn’t have to tell me twice. My pulse pounded in my ears as she removed the rest of my clothes, leaving me naked as she stood before me. Placing her palms on my pecs, she gently pushed me to sit on the couch.
“Where’s Dima?” I asked, my voice gravelly.
Katia smiled. “He’s at Bianca’s for the next few hours. The house is all ours.”
I reached for her, splaying my hands over her hips as my cock hardened to the point of insanity.
