My eyebrows drew together. “When did you promise that?”

“Like… when we were fifteen. We were talking, and then he made me promise.”

My lips parted slightly in surprise and shock. “At fifteen?”

He nodded.

“Soyoutold my dad when I lost my virginity!” Logically, it couldn’t have been anyone but Reece anyway, but I never asked him to confirm.

“It slipped out, okay?” Reece held both of his hands up. “Colin just gave methe talkfor the fourth time, and I went to complain about it to your dad. I might have mentioned me knowing all that already because… well, personal experience. Technically, I told himIlostmyvirginity.”

“Yeah, to his daughter!” I couldn’t help the slight chuckle that escaped me as I pulled him in for another kiss. “You sure know how to make my life interesting.”

“It’s my pleasure,mi princesa.”

“Iwant to sit in the booth!” Ming tried rushing toward his preferred seat choice, but I reached for his jacket, pulled him back, and shook my head.

“Brooke always sits there.”

Ming frowned at me with confusion. “So? There’s space for two.”

“For Brooke and me, yes.” I wasn’t technically against not sitting next to my fiancée, but Ming really needed a helping hand with Rina. His little crush was so obvious, but he was a hopeless case on his own. “Now, off to the other side you go.”

“But chairs are boring,” he said, dragging out the last word. Ming wasn’t drunk, but he was tipsy enough to turn into whatever he was right now—definitely not himself.

Rina laughed, shaking her head at Ming’s ridiculousness. “Just take a seat, Dumbfuck. I’m hungry.”

Ming covered his heart with a hand, sighing. “She already has a nickname for me.”

“Not a great one, buddy.” I slapped a hand on my best friend’s shoulder, then made my way around the table.

After Brooke slid into the booth,I followed.

“Who’s going to get our order when it’s done?” Ming asked, looking at our receipt with the number 475 on it. “Bet we’re going to have to waitages.”

“This is McDonald’s, weirdo. The longest you’re ever going to wait for your order is what? Ten minutes?” Rina dragged out an exaggerated sigh. “Have you ever been to McDonald’s in your life?”

Ming turned his body toward Rina, smiling at her. “Of course, beautiful. But if you want, I can take you to?—”

“I don’t date weirdos,” Rina interrupted.

Brooke leaned her head on my shoulder, stifling a chuckle. “Now more than ever, I’m super grateful that we didn’t have a get-to-know-each-other phase. You simply spawned one day and adopted me as your friend.”

My head whipped around, eyebrows drawing together as I pushed Brooke’s head off my shoulder to look at her. “Did you just friend-zone yourself?”

Her eyes rolled as an amused smile tugged at her lips. “In case you forgot, we haven’talwaysbeen a couple.”

I shook my head, not wanting to hear of this. “You were mine the moment you were conceived.”

“You weren’t even slightly in the picture when that happened.” She laughed. “I’m older.”

“By a month.”

Brooke shrugged. “That’s older.”
