“Bothering? Me and that girl sleep together every night. If I was a bother, she would’ve put me out.”
“Muthafucka, tell another lie. She just told Clover she was getting a cat to keep her company. Why would she do that if she got yo’ dog ass?”
He wore a goofy smile that stretched across his face once more. He obviously knew something I didn’t. “She ain’t getting no fuckin’ cat. She don’t even like pets. She too clean for it.”
Sitting back, I said, “Please tell me how the fuck you know that.”
“Well, for yo’ information, I use my key and kickback on the couch. Like I said, me and that woman sleep together every night. I hear what she be talking ‘bout, too, and it ain’t no fuckin’ cat.”
With dipped brows, I questioned, “What fuckin’ key? She ain’t give it to you.”
“I stole it when I broke in one night and made a copy. The hell you in my business for. Don’t be worrying ‘bout what I’m doing. I ain’t coming back over here no more, and I’m not babysitting, either. Fuck you and yo’ happily ever after bitch.”
His response had me in tears. I knew Ashaun ain’t have it all but damn. Stealing that girl house key was on some next level stalking shit. I wish the fuck I would chase a bitch that wasn’t my wife. These hoes loved money and that was all they saw when they saw us. His grown ass had an allowance for a reason.
“Boy you salty as fuck, ain’t it?” I asked carrying a hearty laugh. He was in his lil’ fefe’s ‘bout that girl and she wasn’t paying him the time of day. I found this shit to be quite comical.
“You just mad ‘cause Clover ain’t the only one pregnant, that’s all,” he said tossing his arms over his chest. For some reason he thought that would move me. The only thing it did was make me look at the nigga dumbfounded.
Taking a deep breath, I closed my eyes and asked, “Nigga what? Aye, don’t even answer that. I don’t give a fuck ‘bout what dumb and dumber got going on. She a damn fool,” I said shaking my head.
“You a hater,” he said knocking the pile of diapers over.
“Get the fuck out my house, Shaun. All that being pressed behind a bitch making my skin crawl. I don’t like all that soft shit.” I could’ve kept popping my shit but Moen announcing the front door opening caused me to stop. I released a deep breath knowing my wife was either going to come in loving her spree or hating it. “Damn man.”
“Seems to me like you got bigger fish to fry my boy. Sis’ on her thirteenth reason as we speak. Bye fuck nigga,” he said walking out leaving me with two piles of material for two different task.
If I wasn’t covered in instructions and slacks, I would’ve got up and smacked fire from his dumbass. I tried to remain calm and content to see what mood Clover was in now. When she left, she was complaining ‘bout what the baby needed. I was hoping whatever she decided to purchase for our child lifted her spirits.
I heard a small laugh from her as she got closer which meant her and Ashaun was jesting in the hall. At least one of us could make her laugh. When she finally entered the room, I threw on a smile with the quickness. The hormonal woman got it in her head that if I wasn’t smiling, I wasn’t happy she was here. I enjoyed her carrying my seed, but the emotional rollercoaster had me debating on doing this again.
Looking her over briefly, I lingered on her belly. Clover was big as fuck to be five months. She might’ve had the height, but baby was slim, thick and toting a hell of a load. I was concerned for my wife, if I was being honest. She looked like she was in pain and hiding it.
“Wassup pretty baby? You good?” I inquired with dipped brows.
She nodded and took a seat on the windowsill. She let her head fall back slowly as she closed her eyes and rubbed her belly. Her slightly wincing caused me to jump to my feet. She came first at all times. I talked a lot of shit, but Clover had me on a leash for real. I’d do anything for her and our lil’ one.
“Nah, what’s wrong, Ma? Why the hell you wincing and shit?” I questioned looking her over more intensely.
“The baby is giving me hell today baby. She’s been moving a lot, and I do mean a lot. I’m just not used to it, that’s all.” Clover had it set in her mind that she was carrying a girl, so she never steered away from it when referring to the baby. Also, when she wasn’t in her head about our marriage, she relaxed enough to be affectionate and call me baby.
Nodding, I said, “Aight. Well, let’s role then. Call Dr. Blossom and tell her we ‘bout to pull up.”
She giggled softly correcting me with, “Her name is Dr. Bloom, Arion.”
“Same thing.”
I scooped her up and she instantly wrapped her arms around my neck. I cautiously carried her to the elevator and waited. We rode it down to the main floor, and I proceeded to carry her to one of the cars in the garage that felt like the distance was damn near a mile from the main house. After she was secured, I joined her in the driver’s seat and pulled off.
Where a nigga wanted to put the petal to the metal, I knew I couldn’t. I could risk my life a thousand times over but when it came to my family, I refused to let anything hurt them. The fact that she was squeezing my hand every few minutes let me know whatever pain she was enduring was kicking her ass. I felt for her, I really did. I thought she was being an asshole but clearly my seed was taking her through it.
I allowed her to squeeze as hard and as much as she needed the entire ride over. She called Dr. Bloom like I told her, so she knew we was on the way. The parking lot was damn near empty due to us pulling up after working hours. I was cool with that. My wife would be seen without any hiccups.
I quickly pulled into a spot right by the front door. “Please wait on me. I ain’t got time for yo’ shit today, Clover.”
“Stop fussing at me. Everything Greek is new to me, including how you cater to a woman. I haven’t given you grief so why you tripping on me?”
“You right,” I said hopping out the whip.
