“I wish the fuck I would,” she sassed rolling her eyes.

While she wreaked havoc, she had the nerve to look so fuckin’ good doing it. With her hair pinned up in a messy bun, I admired all her features. She had the cutest button nose, and her full lips were still inviting. I wanted nothing more than to kiss her fine ass and let her know what the hell it was gon’ be. However, she was the type you had to show better than telling.

“Cool. I’d like to press charges for destruction of property and attempt to commit arson. You can take her,” I said turning her loose. That was all I needed to here, so I left her in their care.

“What the fuck? Are you serious right now? Arion. Arion!” I kept walking away ignoring her shouting spells. All she had to do was agree and things could’ve been dismissed and handled in a fashion where she was safe in my arms and the store fixed by the morning. She wanted to make this hard so, so be it. “Get the fuckoff me. Why you keep slinging me around like that? If you make me lose my child, it’s over for yo’ punk pussy ass!”

The mention of her being pregnant got me to halt my steps immediately. The fuck you just say?Jogging back over to her, I pulled my Glock once more aiming for the sergeant causing each officer to pull theirs. Since he was their commander, why not. I didn’t give a fuck ‘bout the standoff. All I knew was to protect my wife.

“Don’t do it to yo’self. I’ll have you and yo’ team put down before a shot’s fired. You willing to test them waters?” I questioned not letting my stance relax, not even a little.

“Mr. Greek, this is going too far. Your wife is giving my men a hard time, they have no choice but to be rough,” he expressed.

“Nigga fuck what you talking ‘bout. Clover, what the fuck did you just say?” I asked without shifting my focus from the target at hand.

“I-I’m pregnant Arion,” she stated calmly. She been giving niggas hell the entire time but now all of a sudden, she found an ounce of calmness to relay that.

Staring her down, I tried finding the lie. I couldn’t so that irritated me even more. If she was pregnant and knew that shit, why the fuck was she down here on this bullshit? I guess she wanted to see how far she could get but I was fa sho’ ‘bout to show her who the fuck was running shit.

“That’s cool. You need to be sat down anyway. Taker her Owen but be careful with my family,” I warned him.

I walked away with her calling me every name in the book except a child of God. It was a Friday night; baby wasn’t seeing a judge until Monday. I intended to make her sit the entire time, even though I wasn’t going to press charges for real. I was sending my folk down there bright and early to speak to the sergeant and slide him some funds to turn the other cheek.

I didn’t give a fuck what her family did, but mine ain’t operate like a hooligan. Okay, maybe Ashaun was the only exception. Nevertheless, we ran with class, and Clover was damn sure ‘bout to get some. Whatever beef she had with me should never crossover with how we made money. I ain’t play like that, not even a lil’ bit.

Once I was back in my whip, I grabbed my cell out the cupholder. I only trusted one person with this because he was the only one that shared the same bloodline as her. Bentley answered before the call could connect good.

“Wassup foo?”

“Man, I got some shit going on right now that’s turning a nigga gray as we speak. My life is never mellow, you know that.”

“Aye, we living the same life, ain’t it. Why yo hitting me so late? The hell got yo’ attention at this hour?” He was firing off questions like he was a reporter.

“Clover so fuckin’ psychotic, I don’t know whether I’m in love or just thoroughly entertained by her ass. She shot up my fuckin’ shop Bent. The girl needs to be put on meds or something. What the fuck is wrong with her?”

He ain’t answer me not once. All I got was a loud ass laugh in my ear as if I was comedian of the year. I genuinely wanted answers ‘cause the girl needed a strait jacket, but even then, I’d still be turned the fuck on. My wife had me down so goddamn bad it ain’t make no sense.

“I mean, she is wild as hell, but it’s also them fuckin’ hormones. She got too many up in her to control,” he jested.

“So, what you saying Bent? You trying to tell me my wife carrying my child right now?” I was smarter than I was leading on. I knew what the fuck he was saying, and I heard Clover loud and clear as well. I just needed a lil’ bit more reassurance.

“That’s exactly what I’m saying. We found out like a week ago. She wanted me at the appointment. What you ‘bout todo, Scar? Uncle Ryan ain’t ‘bout to play with or ‘bout her,” he claimed.

“And neither am I. Let me deal with this crazy ass girl, and I’ll hit you later.”

“That’s a bet. Aye, be easy on my cousin nigga. We all family but that’s blood. Stay dangerous.”

“Always.” With that, we hung up, and I pulled off, calling the repair crew. Vice answered after the first ring. I gave him no time to speak before I was sending orders. “Come clean my shit up. My wife needed a minute to vent and took it out on my shop.”

“We on the way,” he assured me.

Once again, I was hanging up. I tossed my phone to the cupholder and smiled. Clover was definitely mentally challenged, but I loved that shit. She had a lil’ roughness to her and that mouth was reckless. It wasn’t shit for me to get under control though. With me having the confirmation that I needed, baby was ‘bout to enter her soft girl era and stay there. She was carrying our first child, and I’d be damned if I let either one of them go through anything but happiness.

Chapter 14

Mercedees

Never in my thirty-five years of life had I seen the inside of a jail cell. I’d been spoiled and taken care of my whole life to the point where I did any and everything I wanted without repercussions. One call and Yonnis was saving the day for me and my entire family. I guess this was how my cousins felt when they did their time. This was so foreign to us.
