He looks at my lips and asks, “Yeah?”
I nod, so he rolls onto his back and pulls me with him.
I sit on him with my hands flat on his chest. He puts his hands on my hips, and he’s looking at me with a glint in his eye. I’ve never done this before, so I have no idea what to do, but I wing it. I move slowly and roll my hips. He watches me with pleasure dancing in his eyes. The morning light shines through the window and is making a bar of pale gold across the wall above the headboard. His face is the face I am going to think about every time I close my eyes for the rest of my life.
I lean forward and put my hands on either side of his head on the pillow. He kisses me while I move on top of him. His hands slide from my hips up the length of my back. His mouth is on mine. The slow rhythm I have built on top of him is the slow rhythm he kisses me with. He rubs my clit, and I cry against his lips. He rubs faster while I bounce on him, and I come a second time with my forehead against his shoulder, my hand fisted in his hair, and his name in my mouth.
He flips us, and he’s back on top of me, and he finishes inside me with his forehead against the side of my neck. He says my name into the curve of my collarbone. I hold him through it.
We lie tangled in the bed. He pulls me against his chest. I wrap around him. My head is on his shoulder, my hand is on his chest, and my leg is over his. He kisses the top of my head.
“That was…” he trails off.
“It was.” I blush.
He chuckles, so I smile.
“I can’t believe you asked me to be your girlfriend,” I say, lifting my chin on his chest.
“Can’t believe it?” he asks. “I can’t believe it took me this long.”
I smile shyly. “I’m glad that you did. I didn’t know where this was going for a moment.”
He grabs my face and looks into my eyes. “I’m sorry if I didn’t make my intentions clear, but I’ll make it clear now. I’m going to keep you forever, Lucy Moss.”
“Forever?” I ask.
He nods, pecking my lips. “Forever, baby.”
