"Oh, this is so cool," I said. "We have to swim. If not tonight, then we'll come back tomorrow with Lu for sure."

I moved next to him, standing so close to him that my body was touching his in about three different spots. Ash was a big guy, and I tucked myself beside him. I touched his forearm, letting my fingertips gently touch his skin.

"I think we should do it tonight."

"I think so too," he said, in a deep, silly voice.

"Well, that's obvious, seeing as how we just got married yesterday."

"Oh, I'm glad it's obvious," he said, grinning at me.

"I meant I think we should swim."

I pulled him toward the pool. We had swimsuits on under our clothes, and we haphazardly shed our dry clothes on the way to the water.

We made some beautiful memories in Hollywood that weekend. Some of them were in that movie house, and some were right there in that pool. Two years ago, I would have never dreamed I would find myself there. That's why it was a relief that Someone Else's plans were better than mine.

I loved Ash, and he loved me, and it was as simple as that. I felt like a virgin bride when I was with him. I married Ashton Adams and had no guilt or thoughts at all about my baggage. I had no baggage. I had laid it all down, and now we both just took care of each other and Luna. She was already calling herself by her new last name, even though it wasn't official with the state quite yet.

I had seen enough of the bitter side of life to have a finer appreciation for the sweet things.

And, boy, was this weekend sweet.

Life was sweet.

Lu and I had Ash now.

Life was definitely sweet.

The End
