Fangs sighed. “I can do that, yep.”
“I’m waiting!” Bullet sing-songed outside. “So, if you’re finished kissing your brothers, it’s time to say goodbye, old man!”
“Best get going,” Fangs murmured.
We all watched helplessly as our president rolled his shoulders back. Even I could see the fear in his eyes, and I knew that none of this would end well. There was a massive chance that not all of us would make it out of this bullshit alive, and we knew that Fangs would be the first to sacrifice himself.
God, help us.
If there was any God that might have mercy on us, we needed it. As I watched Fangs pull that door open, he held out his arms before Bullet’s men rushed him. I had to hold Viper back, clinging to his arms as he growled and snarled, watching his president get stuffed into the back of a van with a bag over his head. They tossed him around like a fucking sack of potatoes, and all the while Bullet had a smile plastered across his face.
“Pleasure doing business with you, boys,” he said with a wave of his hand.
And as we all watched helplessly as the van pulled out onto the main road, Angel slammed the door closed.
“Girls!” he exclaimed. “It’s safe to come out!”
I didn’t get turned around well enough before Rose rushed into my arms.
“My God, I thought you guys were goners,” she whispered into the crook of my neck.
I peppered her with kisses as all of the guys doted on their women. Lila cried off in the distance and Nadia was already chewing people’s heads off for what had happened. I simply clung to Rose, though.
“Are you all right?” she whispered.
I nodded as my lips found hers. “I’m much better now.”
I kissed her so passionately that our teeth clattered together. But the moment didn’t last long. As the guys pulled away from their girls, they found their way into the living room. Silence fell all around us. The girls waited in the kitchen patiently, staring us down as Bender stood in the middle of the room.
And just like our club’s code stated, Bender was now in charge.
“All right, President,” I said with a nod of my head, “what in the hell do we do now?”
