“I believe you.” Lincoln smirked. “I ran into Bella.”

Lucas ignored the comment and walked over to a closet. He pulled his suit coat from a hanger and slipped it on. “You wearing that to dinner?” he asked, appraising Lincoln’s attire.

“Yes. What’s wrong with what I’m wearing?”

Lincoln was comfortable with his black V-neck and blue jeans. Hell, he had on a jacket.

“Nothing. But we are going to a five-star restaurant.”

“And? Look, youare the businessman, and Victor is the governor. You actually have to wear those monkey suits. I, on the other hand, am a soldier. I don’t have board meetings, and I’m not in the public eye. Therefore, I can wear whatever the hell I want.”

Lucas laughed and snatched his keys from his desk. “Oh, little bro.” He shook his head. “You own a sizeable percentage of this corporation that you and your brothers leave me to run. So, technically, you are a businessman. And right now, you’re not pissing in some desert. It’s time to dress the part.”

“Fuck you,” Lincoln muttered. “Can we go?”

“Yeah.” Lucas chuckled. “Victor’s meeting us there.”
