DONATELLA

After casually scanning the room for the third time, she finally spotted Lincoln. He was coming from the back of the house with Taylor and Victor. She walked over to him and pressed up against his big body.

“I missed you. What’s going on back there?”

“I’ll tell you later.” He wrapped an arm around her shoulder and kissed the top of her head.

Donna would have pushed, but the sight of Lucas dropping down to one knee had her speechless. Her eyes went buck and her jaw dropped. She pulled away from Lincoln, horrified for Lucas. Bella was about to crush the man’s dreams. She felt bad for Bella. Hurting Lucas wasn’t gonna be easy.

After looking around the room, at all the terrified faces, she realized everyone was scared for him and prepared to console.

“Marry me, Bella,” was all he said.

Bella seemed so confused, as if she had no clue what dropping to one knee meant. Her hand flew to cover her mouth.

“Shit,” Lincoln cursed under his breath.

“Yes!”

Donna’s breath hitched. She was in total shock, and not sure she heard her right. And she clearly wasn’t the only one in shock. The loud chorus of, “What?!” was the first clue.

Lucas slipped the impressive rock on her finger and jumped to his feet. He looked over at Lincoln and shouted, “Ha!”

“Thank you, baby. I love you,” he declared as he pulled Bella into his arms.

Overcome with excitement for her sister, Donna started clapping and jumping up and down. The love she shared with Lucas must have been extremely powerful. Since her divorce, Bella had vowed that she would never marry again. As Donna watched her sister, smiling from ear to ear and crying tears of joy, she realized that not only did she feel her pain, but she also felt her happiness.
