Holding the dagger, I mumbled the incantation to lock it away, and it dissipated from my hands. I stumbled back into Aziel’s arms and took another shaky breath as I closed my eyes tight.

I couldn’t cry over taking Mortala’s life. It was my fault he’d been so dependent on someone so unworthy.

“Are you okay?” Kai asked, his warm hands cupping my cheeks.

I opened my eyes before closing them again and moving forward to touch my lips to his. His lips were soft and comforting, and I loved them. Pulling back, I sighed.

“I will be.” I couldn’t let it affect me for long. I needed to be strong. Those who’d betrayed me needed to be punished.

“What do we do about Zelek and Astral?” Thaddeus asked.

“Bran and Orenn have sealed off the gate completely,” Blaise said. “They’re standing guard.”

Bending forward, I flipped my hair over and gathered it together before tying it into a bun at the top of my head. “There’s only one thing we can do.”

“Is it time?” Aziel asked, and I nodded.

“Time for what?” Kai asked.

“Time to obliterate Zelek and Astral.”

“Are you sure you can do this?” Kai asked me again, turning me by my shoulders to face him.

A lock of his red hair fell into his blue eyes filled with concern as he stared at me. I reached up and moved it back out of his face. “Kai, I’m the Queen of this domain now, and Zelek is a threat. I don’t have a choice.”

“You’re right. You don’t.” Thaddeus patted my head, and I turned toward him. “But you’re not doing it alone.”

My lips turned into a goofy smile so big my cheeks ached.

“Bloody right!” Blaise tapped my nose with his finger. “We’ll be right by your side.”

“You’re never going to be alone again,” Aziel murmured into my ear, his hot breath making me clench my thighs together for friction.

Fuck. It’s not the time to get horny, Lilith.

Blaise snickered. “We’re all always horny around you, Poppy.”

My face flushed as I bit down on my bottom lip. Lust poured from me to them. “Glad I’m not alone.”

“For fuck’s sake!” Bran clapped his hands as Orenn physically pushed the guys away from me. “We have to get you lot into the heart so you can obliterate the threats.”

“Right,” I muttered, sucking back in my lust sin. “Sorry.”

“No you’re not.” Bran rolled his eyes before he and Orenn shifted into their hellhound forms.

I grinned, patting them both on the head. “I just love how cute you guys look in this form!”

“Hey!” Blaise sputtered. “They’re not cute.”

“Yeah, we’re the cute ones.” Aziel pouted.

“You can pet me instead,” Kai mumbled with a frown.

“Please stop showing the mutts attention,” Thaddeus grumbled.

The twins growled at them and bared their teeth.

My guys each took a small step back, and I laughed, pulling my hands from their heads. “Fine. Let’s get this gate open.”
