“Thad?” Blaise snickered as Aziel pulled me away and into his arms. His lips found my neck as he kissed me and inhaled my scent.

“I’m sorry, my beloved,” he rasped. “I did all I could, but in the end, I failed to protect you again.”

I shook my head, nuzzling my face into his chest. “You couldn’t have done anything, Aziel. This was my fight, and I won. But I missed you so fucking much.”

He swallowed hard. “I love you more than my entire existence. Without you, life isn’t worth living. I can’t go through another second without being by your side.”

“I love you just as much, my loyal guard.” I glanced up and he met my lips with a tender kiss.

“I hate to break up the reunion,” Titan’s familiar voice carried between us, “but we’d like to know what’s going on.”

Untangling from Aziel, I noticed that the guys weren’t the only ones who came to find me. My family was standing at the entrance to the cave. My chest swelled with thankfulness that I had souls who cared about my wellbeing, but a heavy weight settled as apprehension set in at Mystia’s escape.
