Blaise
What the fuck just happened?
Lilith was standing right in front of us like the most beautiful Goddess of Destruction that ever existed, and then that dodgy angel tricked all of us. He snuck some fucking bracelet on her wrist, and it stopped her from fighting back.
Gabriel took her to fuck knows where.
My vision pulsed red as anger rippled through my muscles. I plowed my fist through the nearest concrete wall before I realized it. The concrete tore through the skin on my knuckles with the punch, and warm, black blood dripped down my hand.
If Lilith were here, she’d be pissed that I hurt myself after she just healed me.
But she’s not here.
Another roar ripped from my throat, and I punched another hole through the wall, not giving my hand time to heal in between. I tore it to the bone, and a dull pain blocked by my anger radiated through it.
What’s that bloody angel doing to her?
“Blaise, mate, stop,” Kai said, directing his calming shit my way.
I whirled toward him, yanking my hand out of the wall. Before I could say anything, his powers seeped into me.
“You’re alive, and that’s a bloody miracle. We need you focused to help us go after Lilith. Don’t lose the plot now.” Kai’s face was stoic. I’d known the bloke over three-hundred years, but I’d never seen that look on his face. He loved Lilith just as much as I did. All of us loved her.
Rage swirled just below the facade of calm he was creating. “Don’t stop that or I won’t be able to think.”
“I hear you.”
“How do we get to Heaven?” I ground my teeth together.
“We don’t,” Titan said with a strained voice. “There’s no way into Heaven unless you’re an angel or a high-level supernatural like the Kings of Hell.”
That fucking angel. I’m going to kill him. Fuck the consequences. Aziel’s thoughts bombarded my mind. His vivid desire of ripping Gabriel’s wings off his back and shoving them down his throat appeared in my mind.
He had the right bloody idea. Gabriel deserved worse for shackling her with whatever bloody magic was in that bracelet. From the look of how it affected her, she was powerless and unable to protect herself.
I should’ve done more to protect her.
I’d locked eyes with that red-eyed abandoned, and it trapped me in a battle I wasn’t prepared for. It had fucked with a memory of Lilith and I when we were training for the Order of the Void’s trial, and it used her against me.
Back when we were all flirting and not much action, I knew she was meant for me. The abandoned had warped the fond memory into shit. My spunky vampire was nothing but malicious in its version. She’d told me she didn’t love me as much as my brothers before she had tried to rip out my heart.
She’d never say that, and once I’d figured out it wasn’t her, crippling pain took over. Viktor’s claw had grabbed my heart, and everything went away except for Lilith's voice.
Eventually, even her voice drifted away.
Out of nowhere, she had single-handedly pulled my soul back into my body. I healed, and there she was, holding my heart in her hand, both figuratively and literally. Lilith leaned over me with an insurmountable amount of love. Our connection had multiplied when she brought me back to life.
I knew she was special the moment we found her bleeding out on that deserted back road, but I had no idea what was waiting for us. I’d fancied her from the moment I heard her snarky thoughts. She was special to me, to all of us, because we were in love with that woman. But whatever was happening was more than just us.
She was part angel and demon, and we’d made her a vampire as well. Her species shouldn’t be possible. Angel and demon couples were never granted permission for a ritual to conceive, and Lilith’s mother was human. I’d met her myself.
So why is she part angel?
A loud crash brought me back to the present, and I blinked a few times at what was unfolding in front of me.
“How could you let him take her?” Aziel’s voice was dangerously low as he leaned down to where he’d thrown Titan’s body against the floor. The solid floor was cracked from the battle, but Titan’s body made an imprint on it from the force of the impact. “And don’t give me some bullshit that you didn’t fucking know. If Kalyke and Selene knew, you had to have known.”
