“And the bracelet?” Kai asked, his fists clenched to his sides.

“What bracelet?” King Zelek yawned.

“Oh, I’m sorry. Does your daughter’s well-being bore you?” I snapped.

Mortala’s orange face turned red as he huffed. “Don’t speak to King—“

King Zelek held up his hand to silence him and narrowed his eyes at me. “You dare question my intent?”

“Bloody right he does!” Blaise detonated next to me, stalking forward and pointing at one of the Kings of Hell like he was below him. “Your daughter was taken by the angel who killed her! Why doesn’t that upset you?”

He rubbed his chin before resting his arm on his leg. “Gabriel loves her, contrary to your belief. He wouldn’t cause her harm. Now that she’s part angel, he wants to help her learn her powers.”

“For what purpose?” Kai asked. “Why make her a prisoner in Heaven?”

“You’ve seen Lilith. The blood oath is over. You may leave.” He looked down his nose at us.

“We’re not going anywhere until you tell us where she is,” I said, crossing my arms.

He snorted. “Mortala, get them out of here.”

Mortala bowed. “Of course, Sire.”

Blaise growled, baring his fangs and moved forward toward King Zelek with supernatural speed. Mortala stepped in front of him and snapped his fingers before Blaise made contact with either of them, and we were all teleported back into the hallway.

My head throbbed with irritation, and a growl tore through my chest. Blaise was mid-run when we teleported, and he ended up driving his fists through the wall again. “Fuck!”

Kai stumbled back and sat his ass on the floor. “All for nothing.”

“What happened?” Aziel asked, him and Titan right there waiting on us.

“King Zelek,” I muttered. “Bloody bastard. We saw an image of Lilith from the day she was taken, but we didn’t get to actually see her.”

“Fucking knew it.” Aziel sighed.

“And he wouldn’t answer any of our questions,” Blaise said as he ripped his arm from the wall that bled all over him. “I’m getting real bloody tired of Hell.”

“Then why don’t we just leave?” Kai asked, his cheek resting on his knee.

It was silent for a moment as everyone thought about it. Why were we residing in Hell? What favors was that doing for us. We could just go to the manor now that our blood oaths had no bearing on us.

“Where will Lilith go first?” Aziel asked, rubbing his hand down his face. “If she got free.”

“Hell,” Titan answered with a shrug. “Plus, Brann and Oren can’t teleport, so they wouldn’t be able to tell us any news when they need to.”

“Those two better find something fast,” Kai mumbled.

“We need to figure out where she is, and we need to do it fast,” Aziel said.

Blaise stalked over to us, shaking what he could of the damned blood off his arm. “Why don’t we all go pay the Order of the Void a visit? Gabriel is part of it, right?”

Titan tapped his fingers against his lips with a sigh. “Not anymore. Once he took Lilith, he was promoted back to an archangel status.”

“Fucking what did you say?” Aziel asked, snapping his head toward the other demon with malice.

“Gabriel’s not part of—”

“No, I heard that. The part of him being an archangel again.”
