He takes a few steps back and releases my hands. His shoulders are higher, his chest broader. It’s a glimpse of that peacock pride, but this time, I’m playing a part in it. He’s proud that he’s loved by me, and I like that more than I can say.

“Now,” he says as he hops back onto his tramp. “Let’s see what you’ve got.”

Suddenly, the door swings open, and a woman pops her head in. She’s blonde, beautiful, and curvy. “Do you have room for one more?”

“You bet we do,” Luke answers, moving from the other edge to make room for her.

“Great,” she says, then motions into the room with the wave of her arm. “Go ahead.”

My eyes widen as I see who strides in—Mr. Cheetah Print himself. He gives me a wave and hops onto the tramp beside Luke, stretching his arm out for a fist bump.

“Let’s get this party started,” he cheers.

Laughter breaks out over the group.

“That’s a great idea,” I say, hitting play on the music at last.

The song starts up with its kicking beat and every important question. I’m happy to say that, where love and commitment are concerned, I can finally answer with a big, fat yes!
