Opening my eyes, I meet Finn’s gaze.

“I do not, for one minute, think you are a tease. There is nothing wrong with being a virgin.”

“I know, but…”

“No buts. Do not let that coward of a man make you hide. You were so confident and sexy tonight, I couldn’t keep my eyes off you.” He reaches for my face, and I feel the gentle caress of his thumb as he draws it across my now washed face. “Your makeup was beautiful.”

“MEOW!! MEOW!! MEOW!!”

“Oh my god, Gallifrey!!” I roll my tear-stained eyes then glare at my cat because his timing is impeccable.

“He thinks he's starving,” I mock whisper to Finn, and he laughs, breaking the heavy mood.

Finn stands, holding out his hand to help me up.

“Well, let’s feed the master, then… I can’t be the reason he starves. I’m scared he will break into my apartment while I’m sleeping and sit all creepy-like at the end of my bed, plotting my demise.”

“Oh, he would never…”

“MEOW!”

“Umm, yeah, we should probably feed him,” I say as I walk into the kitchen to grab his bowl. I give him a half a can of food, because even though it’s his second dinner, I also don’t want to die.

“Can I get you something to drink? I have wine or a beer that has been in here for who knows how long,” I say, opening the fridge.

“I’ll have a glass of wine.”

“Perfect,” I say, grabbing two glasses and the bottle. “Should we sit?” I motion to the couch.

“Sure. Here, I’ll carry that.”

“What? Worried I’ll trip over the couch and break a bottle of red wine all over my floor?” I say with mock offense.

He raises an eyebrow. “How many times has that happened?”

“Let’s just say, yay for hardwood floors,” I chuckle.

Taking a seat, I tuck my legs under me and lean back, resting the side of my head on the back of the couch. I take a moment to look my fill at Finn’s lean, muscular body as he pours us each a glass. The way his t-shirt stretches over his upper body makes me want to run my hands all over his chest.God, I wanna see what’s under that shirt.

“Thank you,” I say, as he hands me a glass and sits down, his body turned towards me, with an arm draped across the back of the couch.

“Can I ask you something?”

“Sure,” I say, taking a sip of wine. “Anything.”

“Whyareyou still a virgin?”

I chuckle, loving how to-the-point Finn is. I’m not offended, I mean I get it.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean for it to come out like that… It’s just, you’re a very attractive man, you could have anybody, is it by choice or…?”

“I wouldn’t say anybody, but yeah, I guess it’s kinda by choice. Growing up in Camden Bay, there weren’t a lot a gay people around. That's changed, of course, and I’m proud of this little town for that. But I never saw gay people in the real world. It was always TV, the Internet, and my books.” I wave my hand towards the mountain of books on my shelves. “I think I always knew I was gay, but it was always just something on the inside and never anything tangible.”

I took a sip of wine and let out a small laugh.

“My mom used to say she knew the moment she caught me trying on one of her dresses at 6 years old. I didn’t get into her makeup until at least 14.”

I chuckle at the memory. “God, the first time I did a horrible job, and she just walked in, patted me on the shoulder and said, ‘Don’t worry, you’ll do better next time.’ like it was completely normal.”
