He slammed inside of Basil one last time, feeling the orgasm tearing through him like a tornado on the prairie. Trees flew in its wake, and the world was turned upside down for him.
Basil came a moment later, and they held one another, both breathing raggedly, trembling together before Basil laughed.
Herb knew why, and he was soon laughing too. “The mess?”
“The mess. Why is it that every time you do something big, things seem to…want to hurt you, physically hurt you?”
Herb laughed and fell onto his back. “I swear, it felt like the house all over again, like something had it in for me.”
“Well, it was the most perfect night I’ve ever had. And as much as I miss our little boy, you, my mom, Lila, Abuela, and pretty much my entire family, are all right. I need to givehim over to them once in a while, so you and I have more time together.”
“Not too much. I already miss him.”
“Me too, but I missed you too. And now, I am in this bed, and we can actually sleep the whole night without worrying he’s going to suddenly learn to escape his grip and fall.”
“I knew you worried about that.”
Basil lay his head on Herb’s chest and said, “I can’t help it. Once we’re on our fifth kid, maybe I’ll mellow out.”
“Maybe?”
“Maybe.”
