“Let me put the ring on,” he laughs.
“Nuh-uh,” I tease, kissing his cheek, his neck, finally finding his lips.
He chuckles, taking my hand and sliding the perfect diamond onto my ring finger.
“Twins,” he whispers, holding me close to him.
“Ooh, somebody’s getting ahead of themselves,” I tease.
“What will we call them, Grace?” Harry asks in the same teasing note he used in the elevator.
I jab him in the side, all in good fun, as a soft glow surges through me. “AsifI’d ever forget.”

Nine months later
Feeling emotional and weepy from the birth, I stare down at them, our two perfect bundles.
Liam has Harry’s eyes and Alice has my cheekbones … or so Harry tells me.
I smile at them, and then look over at the father, who’s got a big, cheesy grin on his face, too.
“I love you,” I whisper.
“I love you,” he says, leaning across to kiss me on my sweaty forehead.
“And you.” He leans down and kisses Liam.
“Andyou, sweetheart.” He kisses Alice.
I let my head fall back, the urge to sleep tugging at me even though it’s daytime outside.
The sun slants in through the hospital windows brightly.
I close my eyes with as a glowing smile spreads across my face. This kind of happiness I would never have dared to imagine.
