I poured us both a dram of whisky.
“But there should be enough wood to keep us warm for the night.”
He downed the whisky, then looked at me with that dark gaze. Warm indeed, I thought as he took hold of my hand and pulled me against him.
“Mikaela Brodie,” he said, his beard brushing my cheek, obviously enjoying the sound of my new name.
His mouth found mine. The taste of whisky and cinnamon and Brodie was delicious.
“Actually,” I said as the kiss ended and just as another began. “According to Mr. Cavendish, the new sign on the office will read Brodie and Forsythe.”
He nipped at my bottom lip… most delicious!
