After we left the hospital, they would hardly leave our side, except for the few days Brooks and Emryn were in the hospital having their baby.

A little boy.

And as I look at my brother standing at the end of the sidewalk, holding his little boy like I’m holding mine, I can’t help but hope that our babies will have the same relationship we do when they grow up.

The breeze blows against my face again, and I tilt it up so I can feel it on my skin.

Closing my eyes, I take it all in, just for a moment.

With my wife’s hand in mine and our baby in my arms, I say a silent prayer. “Thank you, God, for giving me more than I ever deserved.”

Then I open my eyes and walk toward our happily ever after.

Your Mommy and I wanted to write down every experience we had during my pregnancy with you. We didn’t want to forget a second of it, and even though not all of it was good, I will never regret any of it because it gave me you.

When you are older and about to have a baby of your own, we hope you will look back through these notes and understand the faith it took to get you here.

Never forget that we love you, but God loves you more.

I watched miracles happen the day you were born, and I will never forget that.
