He was perfect. I leaned in, breathing him in, that sweet baby smell and a hint of mint. He was my whole world.

"You did so good, Gracie," Drew praised, his voice choked up as he brushed a kiss over my head, then our baby’s.

"He’s perfect," Spencer agreed, running a finger down his cheek before resting his hand on my arm. Cade was right there behind him, trying to get to us. Beckett was still stunned, his eyes locked onto us as if the whole world had just shifted and he hadn’t caught up yet.

The doctors were amazing, cleaning me up and doing everything they needed for Blake, while giving us a moment.

Beckett finally moved, the others getting out of his way as he came forward. His eyes were first for me, placing his forehead against mine and breathing deep.

"You’re a miracle, Grace. So fucking strong. Look what you gave us."

We both turned to look at our sweet baby. He was perfect. A small, little nose, his little, pink lips open and ready. The nurse helped him get in position, and he latched on right away.

The moment Blake was done eating and the nurses took him to the corner of the room with the betas to check him over, I couldn’t help but look at Beckett and Drew.

"Has anybody heard from my sister? Is she okay? Is the baby all right?"

"I’ve been in here, but I’ll find out for you," Beckett promised, placing another kiss on my cheek before walking out of the room.

It felt like the seconds ticked by slower than ever, but when he walked back in a few minutes later, he was beaming.

"She did so good, too. Nolan and her look like naturals," he said, like the proud uncle he was. "And baby Molly is adorable." He pulled out his phone, showing me pictures of my little niece. "I may or may not have greased a few palms so that you guys both got the recovery suites. There’s a door connecting them, so you’ll have privacy but also be able to see each other."

"Best alpha ever," I said as my eyes drifted closed, exhaustion pulling me under.

It wasn’t long before I was awake and feeding Blake again. I didn’t want to let him out of my arms, and I was grateful that I had all four of the guys to make sure that I didn’t fall asleep with him.

Labor took it out of me, and now that I was in my recovery room and resting, all I wanted to do was snuggle my baby and sleep.

That and I was starving.

When my stomach rumbled, Cade let out a chuckle. "I checked in on the food situation, and it seems it was nothing that I would feed you in a million years, so Nolan and Beckett ran out to get you both a celebratory meal."

"Tell me it’s a large pizza."

"It is now," he chuckled, sending a message. "I’m pretty sure they’re getting a whole buffet."

"Do you want to hold your son?" I asked Cade. Now that Blake was done feeding, he needed burped.

"Of course, I do," he said, laying a burp cloth over his shoulder before taking our newborn. He was a pro already, following the movements we were taught.

The moment he got a little burp, he was nuzzling him in his arms, scent-marking our baby until Blake was making cute, little noises.

Blake had only cried twice, and I swear I watched these men fold for his little sounds. All I could picture was years down the road, as he was toddling around, running after our pack, having all five of us wrapped around his tiny, little fingers.

Even this close to labor, I knew damn well that I’d do it all over again.

"Can we come in?" Nolan asked. He had sweet Molly in one hand, his other locked around his wife. Spencer was alreadymoving, scooping the baby up for him so he could help her a little easier. When Hailey was settled into a seat next to my bed, she beamed up at me.

"Good job, Grace. He’s perfect," she said as she watched Blake and Cade.

Cade deposited Blake into her arms and I watched my sister melt. "Hi, my sweet boy. Your Auntie Hailey is going to spoil you rotten," she cooed.

Then Molly was in my arms. She had a shock of hair on her sweet head, poking out from under her pink hat. Her little face was scrunched up as she wiggled around, and I was in love all over again.

"Hi, sweet girl. Your mama did a good job, too. Look how perfect you are."

"They’re going to be best friends," Hailey said. "Just like we were."

Our babies were going to have the kind of life we would have killed for. Between our friends, packs, and each other, there was no room for the family that was too toxic to truly stay a part of our lives.

Later that night, as we snuggled together as a pack, admiring our son, I knew that every year of separation between me and Drew, and all the time waiting for my perfect pack, was worth it.

We were simply waiting for each other.
