“Me too, babe.” I followed immediately after, not even trying to be quiet. Rory could sleep through anything, and even if he woke up, he could wait a few minutes. We needed this time together. The few moments each day when I was locked inside him and our hearts beat in sync.

After his come had been washed off the wall and I had slipped out of his body, I continued to hold him up until his legs stopped shaking, and then I eased us both onto the floor of the shower with water sluicing over us as we caught our breaths.

Ori curled between my legs with his back to my chest, and I held him. “I love you, Rosco.”

“I love you too, Orlando.” I tightened my arms and pressed a kiss to his wet hair. “More than anything.”

He was quiet for a moment before he looked up at me with a glimmer of mischief in his eyes. “When do we get to do this again?”

I cocked my head, not following his train of thought. “Showering?”

“No.” He laughed softly and put his head against me again. “Another baby. When can we give Rory a baby brother or sister?”

I thought about the sleepless nights, the crying, the constant terror that something would go wrong, and my answer was easy. The way Rory smiled when he saw me was something I would never get tired of. “Now.” I dragged my teeth along his jaw and slipped my hand under his ass. “I’m ready to get started when you are.”

“Good.” Ori wiggled in my lap. “I don’t know for sure, obviously, but I feel like maybe tonight was…it.”

I snorted. “It could be.”

The baby monitor crackled to life, and we heard our son’s tiny little wail echoing down the hall.

Ori groaned, but I was already on my feet, dragging him with me so I could wrap him in a towel. After a quick pat dry, we both went to the nursery to check on our boy. He was already calming down, and he went silent when he recognized the shapes and scents of his dads.

“Shhhh…” Ori patted his back, lulling him back to sleep.

I watched the two of them together and felt something I’d never had before. Something I never thought I was missing.

A family. A sense of belonging. Permanence.

I rested my chin on his shoulder and soaked in the perfect moment with my baby and my omega.
