Gage mutters softly to himself, shaking his head.

I’m too curious to let it pass. “What was that?”

“Make it four Carver brothers.” He raises his glass to his lips, a belated toast. “I was on leave for my first Fourth of July in the Marines, and she must have been feeling particularly patriotic…”

Hunter and Theo laugh, but then I ask, “Who’s the fourth?”

But Gage shakes his head. “That’s his secret to tell. Not mine. But I’d be surprised if she didn’t get all our V-cards. She had a thing for completing a task.”

Hunter chuckles, nodding to confirm. Gage purses his lips and shrugs. Theo, for once, looks slightly sheepish. “At least it wasn’t on thesameFourth of July. She was older, flirtatious, and…well, we were teenage boys. It was evidently a rite of passage.”

“A maaaajor rite of passage,” Hunter chimes in. “She was wild.”

A laugh bubbles out of me. “So I’m not the first woman you’ve shared, huh?” The moment I say it, I realize how bizarre it is to be joking about such a thing, but the coincidence is too rich to ignore.

Gage sets his glass down, turning his attention to me. “What about you, Anya? Did you lose your virginity on the Fourth of July too?”

I let out a breathy laugh. “No, that happened in the fall. But I can share the story if you like.”

“Sure,” Theo says softly. “But only if you’re comfortable.”

I brace myself, pressing my lips together for a moment. “Alright. One night, Billy and me were at a house party, and I guess we had too many beers or something. We ended up alone in an upstairs bedroom.”

Hunter leans forward, resting his elbows on his knees. “A house party? He was a romantic, I see.”

I roll my eyes at the memory. “It wasn’t romantic, or at least not in the way I’d pictured. And, well, after that, I felt silly wearing my purity ring anymore. I never put it back on.”

Gage cocks his head. “Did it upset you, throwing away the ring?”

I nibble on the edge of a cracker, choosing my words carefully. “It never fit right, if I’m honest, so physically it was a relief to ditch it.” I exhale, shoulders tight. “But…even before that night, I never liked the idea of that ring. It wasn’t me.”

Gage reaches over to rest a hand on my knee. “You’ve always wanted something you weren’t supposed to have.”

“Yes,” I admit, voice shaky. “The ring fit my finger just fine, but it never fitme.” A shy laugh escapes my lips, and I feel a pang of appreciation for these men who see me for who I am. I wonder if they always have.

Gage gets to his feet and comes around the table, reaching down for my hand. I give it to him, no words needed. He pulls me up and leads me to the primary bedroom. It’s simple—just a plaid-covered king-sized bed flanked by two nightstands and a trunk at the end of the bed covered in extra blankets. The lights are low under the leather-shaded lamps, each embossed with the outline of a deer.

His sparkling eyes penetrate me. There’s no other word for it. He hauls me close for a kiss that sets me on fire. He tastes like whiskey and good times. Seconds later, hands move my hair out of the way, aiming for the tie at the nape of my neck to undo the precarious halter knot. It doesn’t take much to untie it—my boobs are almost too big for the dress’s built-in bra, and the weight of them makes it drop to my feet in a hurry.

I’m standing next to the bed in just my underwear and sandals, surrounded by three incredibly handsome men in a cabin designed for relaxation. I’ve definitely had worse starts to a night.

Hunter takes a stiff breath behind me. “Damn.”

I giggle. “You’ve already had your fun for today?—”

“Bullshit,” he rasps, before spinning me around to kiss me. It’s unpredictable and rough, and I can hardly keep up when Gage reaches around to play with my nipples during the kiss. He makes me moan hard as he pinches me there. When Hunter pulls back, there’s nothing but sex in his hazel eyes. “Anya?—”

Theo nabs me away, his kiss so forceful that we tumble onto the bed. Shock rides me as much as his tongue. I didn’t see it coming. Theo is so restrained, so reserved. Normally.

Tonight is not normal, and right now, I’m on fire for him.

For them.

I tear at his clothes until I reach skin. Theo’s body is lean and muscular, more like Hunter than Gage, perfect for his suit-based wardrobe. Last night, I caught only a glimpse of his tattoo. When I was blowing him, I was moving too much to really see it.

Now, stripping him down, I take a second and look my fill. It’s a beautiful design—Japanese, with hundreds of little scales, all in black and gray and fine detail. Must have taken hours and hours.

Just as I’m about to ask about it, he decides he’s done waiting and kisses me again, rolling onto his back with me on top of him in the middle of the bed. Someone steals my sandals, and someone else goes after my underwear, peeling it down while Theo and I make out.
