Breathing out, she laid a hand on his cheek.“Xavie…”

His head turned to catch the heel of her hand in his teeth.Fuck, she wanted that.Wanted more.Freeing his tie, she threw it away to yank open the buttons of his shirt.Their gazes never wavered from their opposite. This was it.In the flesh.Them as they were supposed to be.

Running her hands across his torso, all of him was what she needed. On the desk, in the middle of the day, it would never be as intense as she wanted. But fuck that. She didn’t even know if he’d obscured the glass to protect them from the rest of the floor… or to protect the rest of the floor from them. The world could watch. They were all that mattered.

Snatching a handful of her hair, he tugged it back, hard, to force his mouth against hers. Was there force?Depended on the meaning. There was strength, but always consent. He’d tried to say no, to dismiss her like she wasn’t the most important person in his world.Right then, in that moment, no one else existed.

Gasping for air, no amount of oxygen could satisfy the clench of climax that seized every part of her in bliss.

“Xav—”

“Fuck,” he growled, snagging her hips, propelling all of himself into her in one final advance.

Sitting there, panting into the humid air between them, his forehead dropped to hers.

She couldn’t open her eyes, even as he stroked the back of her head to coil his fingers in her locks again.

“I’m your best goddamn friend,” she murmured, leaning away from his head to find his gaze.“I don’t give you this pussy for free.”

On an exhale, his lips quirked.“You know we’ll get sued for that stunt.”

“You can afford it,” she said, linking her fingers at the back of his neck.“You didn’t misinterpret anything.Sometimes I forget…”

“Forget what?”

“That you’re a man and thickheaded,” she said and socked his shoulder.“Don’t pout with me.Talk to me.”

“You don’t keep shit from me.Honesty is the rule now.No Huddle rules.”

She patted his chest.“Where is it?”

“Ask your pussy.”

“Hilarious,” she said, presenting a flat hand to him.“Give it to me.”

“Again?Already?Give a guy a second to—”

“The card you want me to break.”

From a desk drawer, he produced a wallet. She snatched it away to find said card and dropped the wallet back into his desk.

“You never leave the campus,” he said.“How are you going to use it?”

“Uh, there’s this fabulous thing called the internet, digiboy.Try it sometime.”She tucked the card into her cleavage and guided his hands to her ass.“Here’s what we’re going to do.I’m going to use the world wide web and make some calls to check out places closer to here for my mom.Expensive places.Really expensive.”He smiled, which calmed her heart.“And I’m going to make appointments at really inconvenient times for your schedule, and we’ll go together to check them out.”

He slid her closer.“Inconvenient times I can make work.Another option is we buy her a place and hire a staff—”

“She needs people around.Social people. When she’s by herself, it’s worse.”

“You want her to stay with us at the house?”

“Live with you?Geez, the woman has enough mental problems, give her a chance at sanity.”

“Mm,” he hummed, bowing to brush the tip of his nose across hers.

“Did I interrupt something important?”Her mouth edged nearer his.“I don’t care if I did, it just makes me feel good to inconvenience you.”

“Inconvenience me with sex?Yeah, that was disruptive. We should find a way to ease that transition.”
