Now feels like a good time. I turn to face him. “I love this. It’s all so perfect. It’s a shame I won’t get to wear the dress for long, though.”

Evan frowns. “What do you mean?”

“I have a surprise for you too,” I tell him around a smile.

His hands land on my hips. “Oh yeah? What’s that?”

“I’m pregnant. You’re going to be a daddy.”

His mouth drops open and his eyes glaze over. “Are… are you serious? We’re going to have a baby?”

I laugh and nod. “You can’t honestly say it’s a surprise with as much as you’re on top of me,” I joke.

Evan laughs. “I am surprised, but it’s a good surprise. Now I feel like I should’ve gotten you the bracelet to match.”

I giggle. “No, this baby is going to cost a fortune. We better be a little more frugal with our money from now on. No more diamonds.”

He smiles. “But I like to spoil you.”

“Well, now we have a baby to spoil.”

“I guess we better talk to Shepard tonight about the wedding then, huh?”

I nod. “Yeah, probably for the best.”

He leans in and kisses me soft and slow, a kiss that leaves me wanting so much more, especially with all these hormones running through my system. I wrap my arms around his neck and pull him closer. He pulls back and looks at me from beneath his lashes. I can read his look. It says, ‘Really?’

I nod and smile and he jumps right back in, pressing his lips against mine and taking the kiss further. He swipes everything off his desk, the dress included, and he sets me on the top where he takes his time removing my clothes. Before long, he’s on the desk with me and I’m sliding down his length, feeling right at home and like my itch has finally been scratched. With me on top, he sits up and wraps his arms around me, kissing my neck while I grind against him. It doesn’t take long until I’m falling apart in his arms, calling his name over and over.

When I’m completely exhausted and can no longer move, he stands and turns us around, laying me back on the top of the desk while he pushes into me and loses himself in me. He fills me with every last drop and then comes to a stop as he rests his head against my chest. “I love you so much, Lola.”

I lace my fingers into his shaggy, dark hair and slightly tug until his eyes meet mine. “I love you too, Evan. More and more every day.”

His lips smash against mine, and it’s like he’s telling every emotion he’s ever had with this kiss. I can feel his dedication, his love, his respect, and admiration. This right here is how I know that we’ll forever be together. There is no beginning and end when it comes to us. We were made for one another and with that love, we created this little baby inside of me. I don’t know how our lives will look, where we’ll go, or what will happen. But I do know that we’ll live every day just like it’s our last. That another day will never go by without us baring our all to one another. And no matter where we end up, it doesn’t really matter, as long as we’re together.

I used to not believe in happily-ever-afters, especially for girls like me, but now I can’t see my life going any other way. As long as he’s by my side and our little baby is healthy and happy, we’ll have it all and I couldn’t ask for anything more.

“Come on, let’s go get all fancy for this party,” Evan says, pulling away from me and helping me to sit up. “This will be a night we’ll never forget.”

“Wanna know a secret?”

“What?”

“I’ll never forget any night that I’m with you.”

He smiles and pulls me back in for another long kiss that I can feel all the way down to my toes.

THE END.
